the wife's has very faint monitor burn in, and browsing the customer support forums its a known issue. They will replace the laptop under warranty, but I'm told to expect the problem again in about 3-4 months.

I googled for programs to help remove burn-in and found a few options, has anyone used any of them successfully? I also heard a tip to use an all white jpeg as the screensaver and leave that on with brightness turned down some, anyone tried that?

so the general concept with an LCD is the same as Plasma? I've dealt with this on a Plasma but didn't know that it can also be an issue with LCD.

My TV has a burn in tool, its basically a white bar that goes down the TV repeatedly.... Essentially cycling the colors on and off at full bright.

Maybe create a video or get a screen saver that does this.
