This show is pretty damn good. It's incredibly clever and stars a predominately african american cast. We don't see that a lot in America (or the world), so it's about time someone did it. I think the show also does a great job of showing situations in a real way and neither playing to nor making an over effort to avoid stereotypes.

Last night's episode was great. They nailed it. I now want to pour Mickey's into a glass and serve it to a woman with a zoro mask on.

I'm only 4 episodes in, but the show is great. All the characters are interesting and likable (except that social media dude), but Darius:Atlanta :: Dustin:Stranger Things.

It was hit or miss and a bit disjointed, but just like the article states, most of them are brand new to TV shows. Hopefully after wrapping on the first season and getting into the next they will have a better understanding of the flow and which episode styles work best.

I do completely agree with his thing about consequences from actions. The shooting has almost no impact. The drug test had no impact. They did great on some callbacks to earlier in the season but other things were just glossed over. That said, it didn't bother me enough to hate the show.

I might have to watch Straight Outta Compton now to see more of Keith Stanfield. Also didn't know Paper Boi is from Fayettenam and completely missed that he was the Principal's husband in Vice-Principals!

that article was eh. even the episodes that did feel more like a sitcom were more entertaining than any standard sitcom. could it have been better? sure, it's a new series, new writers, low budget - but was it pretty great? yup.
