We have a 2 story house with a basement. The internet comes in at one corner of the house where I have an 2nd(?) generation airport extreme. I have OK coverage in the basement (where my work from home office/mancave is). The coverage is poor on the third floor (directly above the router) and OK on the opposite end of the house. I have wired cable going to the basement as well. I do not have any wire to the third floor. I'd like to improve the wifi coverage and would like recommendations as to how to improve it. I was thinking putting a router in the basement and maybe power line to the third floor to another access point? Could a better router cover the house properly? Thanks for any thoughts.

What kind of router do you currently have?

I use a powerline adapter to my upstairs office and it works amazingly well, fwiw.
