I mean, I didn't watch the video but I can't say he's wrong about his theory.

I'm always annoyed and uncomfortable watching Kanye interviews though, he always seems like he's about to either snap and start attacking the interviewer or burst into tears and run out of the room. So I avoid watching them whenever possible.

First of all, if you didn't watch the video, then how do you know about his theory? Are you agreeing with the "theory" that "jewish people got connections; black people don't." or are you referencing some other theory?

Kanye is implying that the reason why Obama can't get anything done is because he's black, and doesn't have connections like Jewish people and oil people (George W. Bush) do. It's easier to get a job when you have a connection to the people running the business, which is true.

However, three times as many Jews support Obama than those who supported Bush. So not sure why they got dragged into this.

If you pay attention to what he's saying, they're actually pretty solid points. Maybe they're just too obvious, and that's what people are hating on.

The point about George Bush and oil money is important because that money is connected to how he became president. He had a network that opened up opportunity to him.

Obama, however, probably has enough connections. His failures are because he's a shitty manager, not because he doesn't have enough wealthy connections.

Shouldn't have said "Jewish", because it's true that black Americans have an inferior network compared to other groups. This is more-or-less why we've failed to truly integrated like what MLK described in his speeches. It's a good point.

If you know people who know people who own shit, getting a job with that shit is much easier.

He siad Jewish because there are a disproportionately high number of jewish billionaires and a disproportionately low number of black billionaires. This is not because there are no creative black people but because creative black people become essentially new slaves. nike will let him design shoes but not get the royalties so theres no way he can become a billionaire off his own stuff even if he generates that kind of revenue.

a jewish person however, will have more connections to people in power and they will get a more favorable position to control their own destiny.

he talks about how black people are happy just to be millionaires because they've been oppressed so much and thats how its new slaves. everyone else gets what they deserve.

This is entirely true, however, the mention of Jews adds shock value.

After all, that's why anyone reported on this "news" to begin with (I'm looking at you, bdmazur).

If someone was asking for my advice, I would suggest dropping the Jew part. But that's only because people will overreact. There's nothing wrong with using Jews as the case-in-point, just like referencing Asian Americans.

Fuck walking on eggshells for the PC police. The point was not hateful and it was correct.

Maybe the guy is anti-Semitic. You can't say that from his quote.

"George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money." Obama was one of the greatest fundraising candidates of all time. But let's humor him enough to say this is an almost-valid statement.

Then it makes sense to say "Black people don't have the same connection as oil people."

Explain to me where Jews play any part in that line of thought.

Jews are stereotypically well connected. They're probably also well connected in reality if there were a statistic that measures that. There probably is a statistic that measures something similar.

Blacks have fewer connections. The statistics support this. There have been stories written about this. This relates to the guy's main point, and it is coherent. Maybe it's not Harvard quality rhetoric, but well above UNC quality.

Jews take care of each other. It's culturally what we've always done and historically how we've always survived. It may or may not be white people's fault, but the black community hasn't been able to do the same.

But when it comes to Jewish connections, Obama did pretty well. His top two individual donors were Jeffrey Katzenberg and Irwin Jacobs. Plus it doesn't hurt to have Rahm Emanuel on your side.

The Obama bit was his weakest point. He's addressed two groups of people. The Jewish, and the oil people.

Saying that the oil people have connections is almost definitional. It also doesn't have any race or religion connection. Connections to big oil does help you become president (relating to the radio station analogy), but it doesn't have much to do with why Obama sucks.

connections to big oil doesn't help you become president but it certainly helps you get stuff done with congress. obama doesn't have power to affect the funding of congressional elections.
