What's also available is the new Against Me! album, the first since the lead singer's gender transformation. Personal differences aside, it's a worthy listen. Really good album.

^Is it better than White Crosses? Because I found that to be quite bad. I was a fan of their earlier stuff, but that album just sucked, imho. Way too poppy.

Crosses album should be awesome. Looking forward to the new Alcest even though it is a big change in sound from where he started. Interested to see if Diamond Youth puts out a full length.

Honestly I'm not sure what exactly is out there that I am looking forward to yet this year. Last year was one of the best years in awhile for new music for me though so I can't complain.

I've been a fan of Against Me for more than a decade now, but this new album just isn't doing it for me. it's dangerously close to sounding like a Green Day album. I think it's safe to say that it's getting the Frank Ocean treatment.

Bought the Crosses album today after streaming it last week. Solid. Wish it was more than just 1/3 material that had never been heard before (I already knew that back when they released the tracklisting though) but getting 5 new tracks and then an overall arrangement of all their early demos and EPs plus the new material into a true album is great. Chino is still at the top of his game and still one of my favorite all-time vocalists. He really embraces all his new wave and electronic influence on this record and sets a great mood.

My favorite album so far this year.

I just picked up a self-titled album today from a band called Cheatahs. Fuzzy 90s indie rock mixed with shoegaze. Think My Bloody Valentine with bands like Red House Painters, Smashing Pumpkins, Hum, Built to Spill etc. Not breaking a ton of new ground but pretty enjoyable nonetheless.
