Wait, how much did they go for new?
I can think of so many other cars I'd rather own for $50k... Actually, the GT-R is not a car I'd want to have, so I guess my opinion on value is not relevant. 2/25/2014 2:54:48 PM |

New is just over 100k now.
I dont know about the one you posted, no mention of clean carfax. Either way for a car that came out in 08 selling for nearly 60k. Not bad for a car that initially sold for 70k. Wish more cars would depreciate that slowly. 2/25/2014 3:16:31 PM |

Make import car where stock engine can be easily modded to 10 sec 1/4 mile times. Watch depreciation not happen.

you'll see depreciation when them shits fall out of warranty
that's the only reason they're anywhere close to the new selling price 2/25/2014 3:32:41 PM |

^All 2009 models delivered in 2008 are out of warranty for powertrain. I assume those are the ones in the 59-63k range. So that doesnt seem to be playing a factor. 2/25/2014 4:28:07 PM |

What were the production numbers like on the GT-R? is this one of them cars that will tank and be fairly cheap one day (like a z06 vette). 2/25/2014 6:16:02 PM |

That must be why this past summer you couldn't find one for less than $70k and now 6 months later they are in the low 60's, high 50's...
hold onto the dream

Its production numbers are a lot lower then a z06. I think its somewhere like 1500 gtr vs 7000 z06 for US sales.
In regards to this past summer, it was pretty easy to get a 2009 GTR for 63-67k. I know this because I saw regular sales on gtrlife for around that price because I was thinking of purchasing one but 2009s is a gamble on transmission and I wouldnt want to risk it not being covered. 2/26/2014 9:59:31 AM |

if you have any desire to take it to the track, I encourage you to drive the piss out of it first. all the new gadgetry in cars make them a lot less fun to drive if you have skill or expectations of a focused, razor sharp platform. 2/26/2014 10:27:39 AM |

^Exactly. I don’t understand why magazines say it drives great, they... don’t. Responsive, yes. But I wouldn’t describe it as precise or willing or whatever. Not my idea of fun, but to each his own. 2/27/2014 12:09:29 AM |

It's like Yankees fans or UNC fans.
Gtrs are for people who don't really want to know the finer things about the sport. They don't want to know how to drive or where the line is... They just want to win. 2/27/2014 5:43:03 AM |

I'm pretty sure the GTR never sold here for less than $80k, and isn't routine maintenance on them insanely expensive? I'd be worried about that. 2/27/2014 1:04:52 PM |
