how is there not already a thread on this?

great movie...call me gay all you want...I really enjoyed it.

I really like the idea that the little mermaid stems from the boat sinking too.

how the fuck did they know that she plunged the land into an eternal winter? she had only been gone like a day. for all they knew it was gonna clear up in like a week.

^ cause she cray cray mane.

olaf was the redeeming character for me... they needed a bumbling idiot sidekick to smooth over the usual predictability.

I hear good things but a friend did a recap of the plot. Maybe they didn't do a decent job of relating the plot because their explanation was... WTF???? I'll probably wait until it comes on TV.

I mean the plot wasn't all that fantastic, but plot recaps are never really impressive. Pretty standard plot but the humor and characters were really good.

It's really not that good when compared to the classics (lion king, Aladdin), the story is very weak upon any close inspection, but it does have very catchy songs and is light hearted and humorous, and great for kids

yeah it was ok, but the story felt very...short, i guess. i was like "that's it?" still worth 1 watch.

Its not bad. But I definitely think it is overrated. There have been several much better animated movies within the last year. The song is catchy. The snowman is funny but he doesn't even show up until 2/3 into the movie. Lame plot. Way to much singing. I thought it was a musical for the first 30 min.

Horrible Me 2 was a much better movie overall.

I agree, pretty mediocre.

I do like though that they lampooned the traditional Disney movie themes of love at first sight, and the heroic prince, and true love. This is one of the few Disney movies that breaks the mold, where the heroines save themselves, the trolls are the good guys, the prince is the bad guy.

That is one of the reasons I like it so much.

The Animation is out of this world too..so much detail and intrinsic work that went in. Really comes to light when you see it on blu-ray.

there's a lot to like about it, but some serious, elementary, lazy plot development.

- the thing about the eternal winter bugged me too. How did they know that so soon when they didn't even understand her power?
- the entire timeline of the story is vague.
- After a lifetime of repressing her power, Ana suddenly becomes motherfucking Michaelangelo and creates a palace that surpasses the architecture of the day. And they never showed us the kitchen. I NEVER FOUND OUT IF THERE WAS A FRIDGE UP THERE
- She's surprised to see Olaf is alive, and then minutes later creates the stay puffed marshmallow man/godzilla/snow monster.
-Will there be a Frozen/Ice Age Crossover a la DC/Marvel?

saw it, loved it. after the hype i had to see it in person and it exceeded expectations. as a fan of the classics i can say for the first time in forever i actually found myself not bored at all during the music sequences. in fact i used to hate the "let it go" song but when i heard it in the context in the movie i somehow want to build a snowman

I saw this movie on HBO a few months back

It seemed a little stupid at first, I didn't feel sorry for the guy that tried to jump at all.
It was kind of sad at the end when it turned out the Iceman was eaten by the wolves.

The whole idea was pretty good, but don't they usually collect all the chair lifts at the bottom at the end of the day?

So, how cringe-worthy is this movie? Like how many out-of-place pop culture references, lame puns and so on are there? Disney-typical, or less than usual?
