I heard Andre's Microphone wasn't working almost the entire show and people dont' know who Janelle Monae but they get loud for Future. And they had the nerve to cut them off early

hipsters don't go to coachella. and a crowd full of actual hipsters probably would've been more familiar with outkast's music

Cutting them off early is a matter of money, not a matter of nerve. Knowing how big the fine is in Raleigh, I'm sure the fine for breaking sound curfew in Indio is enormous.

Outkast is a great representation of a group that people liked but no one really loved. They had LOTS of hits but it's seriously been 10+ years since they were notable and the industry has changed a lot.

Bullshit. The target Coachella market of 22 year olds may not love them because their last hit single was ten years ago, but plenty of people LOVE Outkast.

"SpottieOttieDopaliscious" is a perfect song, and it's not the only one in the catalog that's that good.

OutKast was awesome when they were awesome and they made music people in at or around the turn of the century "loved" in the same way your cousin loved that Carly Rae Jepson song from a few years ago. It's ok, you're just old. Unless you really think today's pop is awesome, and then...?

Don't get all butthurt about it when they can't draw excitement ten years later. They aren't Coldplay.

I've never been a huge fan of hip-hop, but I had every album and knew most of the words to most of their songs.

[Edited on April 14, 2014 at 9:44 AM. Reason : same with Da La Soul, up through Stakes is High]

gonna see them at Counterpoint outside of Atlanta in a few weeks. Hopefully they've worked the kinks out by then. Heard there will be a lot of DF members joining the show too, and best believe the crowd in the A will be hyped.

I was there and caught most of their set. Not really sure what people were expecting, but it's not like they've been known as great live performers or anything. The crowd/vibe was exactly like I predicted, but I still had fun watching their set anyway.

actually, they are known as great live performers

and it was a pretty fucking great 1st 30 minutes or so, they just ran out of gas. they'll be better after a few more shows under their belt (assuming they play at least a handful of their scheduled dates)

[Edited on April 15, 2014 at 6:12 PM. Reason : free passes can be given for a first live performance in nearly a decade]

above all else, I really REALLY hope these festival shows give Andre 3000 the desire to want to make a new Outkast album.
