Opinions, reviews needed. I'm adding some high flow cats, J pipes, new tips. Quote was 75 a hour, no idea how long it would take since it was over the phone.

I use Henry's.

I won't go to Bob's again, regardless of his quality of work, and mandrel bending.

Past:
I asked for a quote over the phone, and he gave me a ballpark, but said it won't be a good quote till he sees the vehicle.
Bring car to him, explain exhaust, intake, and intercooler piping. Get quote and time frame. 2 days, $700
Drop car later off that week.
Car isn't ready
Car isn't ready
Car isn't ready
Car is ready. He wants $1300 because it was more difficult than he thought it would be.
Exhaust leaks, get it fixed elsewhere.
Pay him $800 and tell him to go fuck off.

So the quality of work was pretty bad? How's Henry's pricing vs Bobs?

Since 16, Ive sent all my exhaust work to Henry's...price and quality has always been good.

I have had friends send more intricate work to RJ's on Capital Blvd though and the work looked great but I'm pretty sure he's more pricey.

Quality response, I'll hit up Henrys and see what they say. I'd post pictures of the work after I get it done but this site doesn't like G8s.

You're just trying to stay on his good side so he will make the mistake of racing you.

Henry is Bob's son so pricing will be similar although I think Henry does better work. Been a few years since I've been by either shop but Henry didn't do mandrel-bending.

That being said I only use Henry for minor work. When I need performance piping I go to RJ's. High quality work. Yes, you will pay for it but if you're not willing to pay for it you really don't need top-notch work.

Ignore my previous post. It was RJs, not Bobs that tried to fuck me.

It was the VW that he worked on.

Yeah that's not what I heard. Every time I go up there we have a good laugh at you and your little story.

Ron (RJ's) does top shelf work, and contrary to popular belief, he doesn't charge more for it. Seriously he is a true craftsman, unlike anyone at Bob's or Henry's

I'd like to know what you heard as well.
Nice work, except for the exhaust that his and his employees couldn't fix from leaking, even after two attempts at it.

^^^I agree with what you say about RJ's except the cost. I'm sure you get cut a break since you bring him shit tons of work but the average asshole coming up there wanting some custom work done should expect shell shock when they hear the price. The 2 problems with the price comes from the fact that most idiots who want custom work want it for the same price as Henry's even though the work is far superior. Second problem is you get what you pay for and most people don't want to pay for it.

With that being said I guess I will have to say RJ's isn't overly expensive when compared to other shops who perform the same level of quality. But if you go there expecting stellar work at Henry's price you will be sorely disappointed.

I’ve had great experiences at Bobs and have sent lots of work to them over the years. The thing is, there’s a very wide variety of people that go there, you have to be super specific about what you want. They’re an old school shop, scheduling one person’s custom work may not be at the top of their priority list but damn if they can weld. I’ve lost the number of custom turbo exhaust work I’ve had them do.

RE: G8. I’m very receptive to info about the car or what you’re doing to the drivetrain/suspension/brakes, etc. but I care not one bit about which chrome rims or blacked out WHATEVER.

Henry's is my go-to, and I've had three exhaust systems done there with 100% satisfaction. My friend is a professional mechanic and he swears by Bob's. When it comes down to it as a normal guy who knows cars you should go to Henry's . . . . they're fair with their pricing and stick by what they quote you. You know you'll get good work.

But if you really know your stuff and know exactly what you want Bob's might be a better deal. You'd better know exactly what to tell them to do and how to deal with good ol' boys.

I ended up going to henrys. They did excellent work. I gotta go back and get it adjusted, every now and then the pipes touch the tunnel brace.

That was me.

I mispoke, for the price they charged and the ass kicking the pipe work gave them. I'm satisfied.

They bent same section of pipe 6 times before it was right.

I've been a very satisfied customer of Henry's for years. I've also seen some good work from RJ's. Although if you call RJ's, they're not too pleasant on the phone.

Yeah, well, Ron ain't from Cackalacky...and I think he's a pretty nice guy.

Henry's did the SuperDodge back in the day. I wanted 3" dirt cheap, and they obliged me. I could not afford 4", and they can't do 4", so I guess that worked out well.
