Has to be fake right?

Quote :
"Introducing Palcohol, the world's sneakiest and most efficient way to get drunk. This week, the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approved the powdered booze product, and its makers hopes to unleash it on an unsuspecting public this fall.

Palcohol's website, which has since been scrubbed, once advertised the powder as the solution to many of the modern drinker's most pressing problems. (A cached version of the original site is still accessible here)

Take, for instance, the overpriced drinks at stadium events.

1. What's worse than going to a concert, sporting event, etc. and having to pay $10, $15, $20 for a mixed drink with tax and tip. Are you kidding me?! Take Palcohol into the venue and enjoy a mixed drink for a fraction of the cost.
Palcohol also makes for an easy way to get hammered over breakfast without anyone noticing: just sprinkle it right onto your pancakes, and voilà.

6. We've been talking about drinks so far. But we have found adding Palcohol to food is so much fun. Sprinkle Palcohol on almost any dish and give it an extra kick. Some of our favorites are the Kamikaze in guacamole, Rum on a BBQ sandwich, Cosmo on a salad and Vodka on eggs in the morning to start your day off right. Experiment. Palcohol is great on so many foods. Remember, you have to add Palcohol AFTER a dish is cooked as the alcohol will burn off if you cook with it...and that defeats the whole purpose.
Those who'd rather mainline booze directly into their bloodstream are also in luck. Palcohol can be snorted!

7. Let's talk about the elephant in the room….snorting Palcohol. Yes, you can snort it. And you'll get drunk almost instantly because the alcohol will be absorbed so quickly in your nose. Good idea? No. It will mess you up. Use Palcohol responsibly.
It's hard to imagine how or why the federal government signed off on Palcohol, a product that, in the wrong hands, could make the darkest days of the Four Loko era look tame. For its part, the company says it was caught off guard by the TTB's announcement, and that the old site copy doesn't accurately reflect its mission.

What we can say now is that we hope the product will be used in a responsible and legal manner. Being in compliance with all Federal and State laws is very important to us. Palcohol will only be sold through establishments that are licensed to sell liquor.

More information will be forthcoming."

No, this "technology" has been available for a while now. There is a company that has been making "powdered beer" for at least a year now. Same concept.

Dumbshit kids will snort it, die, and it'll get banned, therefore ruining it for everyone.

I was thinking the same thing except for the dealing part.

"Yes...I'd like one lifetime's supply of palcohol, please."

For the end times, I'll have plenty of booze and a complete set of survival books from the 1970s. They're interspersed with pictures of naked, unshaven ladies building chicken coops and dressing wounds. Just cause.

Seems like the only real use is sneaking booze ing sporting events and slipping it into people's drinks.... It will be banned in no time

you'd have to snort about 30+ grams to get a shot's worth of alcohol. instead of it all getting absorbed quickly in your sinus cavities, most of it would end up dripping down the back of your throat with an atrocious burn.

It'd be fun to have a Scarface moment where you just bury your face into the pile sitting on your desk, but that's about all I could see this stuff being good for. You'd still need the glass of scotch Tony Montana had in that scene to get rid of the burning drip. All of the reasons they gave sound ridiculous.

The Palcohol website says they've "added volume to the powder" so you'd have to snort half a cup of powder to get a drink's worth. Which also negates most of the perk of this product taking up less space than liquid alcohol for ease of transport.

I'm sure it will be more expensive than it's worth, and therefore most of the people who buy it will try it once for the novelty factor and then go back to regular booze. Then someone will die being stupid and it will get banned.

lol wat?

I don't know what to think of a future where you see people walking around with a mysterious powder. Coke? Booze? Explosives? Your guess is as good as mine.

Just to make sure everyone's on the same page here.... The plan is for everyone to mix this in with their favorite soda to recreate 4loko, correct?

Key concept killer: It's not alcohol that has been dried out, it's liquid alcohol that has been absorbed in a solid. It's not lighter, and certainly not smaller. You are better off bringing a couple singles with you.

Or, use a couple IV bags taped to your leg, they'll pair well with the piss bag for your Stadium Pal, just be sure not to mix them up.

"Update as of 4/21 at 4:30pm EST

We have been in touch with the TTB and there seemed to be a discrepancy on our fill level, how much powder is in the bag. There was a mutual agreement for us to surrender the labels.

This doesn't mean that Palcohol isn't approved. It just means that these labels aren't approved. We will re-submit labels. We don't have an expected approval date as label approval can vary widely."

I don't believe it actually had alcohol in it. You had to add the alcohol after the fact. That product just carbonized beer powder then you added the alcohol. This is actually powdered alcohol.

I don't know guys. I'm calling bullshit on this one. I will have to see it to believe it.

I don't care how much press this guy gets. I think this is just a very successful publicity stunt.

Hopefully I will have to eat those words. Because I would like nothing better than to try this shit out.
