Pulling an all nighter for the release this weekend. Couldn't decide between Esper or Spellslinger for a while but i think i'll go with the latter.

I tinkered with an engineer in the beta but didn't want to play it too much. The skillshot combat style will be a refreshing change from the other tab target style mmo's.

I've had it preordered for a while now. I'll be playing a bit with some friends. Played in the beta a good bit and found it to be a lot of fun.

Combat is a lot more twitch style than WoW, which I actually like. Plays more like an action game compared to typical MMOs.

I like the art style and the general humor of the game too.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy this.

I guess I'll give the beta a try this weekend and see how it goes. I don't want to get screwed into a Guild Wars 2 situation again.

Haha, unless you really plan on playing non-stop and becoming the first (or one of the first) to hit max level on your realm, there's really no point to rush it. Most MMOs are pretty weak on the end-game content at initial launch anyway.

for me it's all about just the excitement of the initial launch. haven't had a chance to partake in a midnight release in a while. i expect the servers are going to get hammered come 3am, but i hope it will at least be playable.

I had a lot of fun with TERA until it got stale and boring (I could barely go back to WoW after that combat system). I wonder if the content in Wildstar will suffer just as much...

i asked hoping someone would enumerate the reasons why. a cursory glance doesn't really say a whole lot is different, but I'm happy to be wrong.

TERA was probably the most fun of the f2p (or close to free) games i played. it was cool to be forced to group for some open world content again and have some classes that really were geared for their particular role. that said it was still very grindy in a lot of ways which was disappointing.

I quit TERA before it became f2p, but had no problem paying whatever I did for the game itself or the subscription fee, it was just very lackluster end of game.

played a good 15 hours today before they took down the servers for a "hotfix" thus knocking everyone back into the queue

pretty fun so far, got my mordesh spellslinger to 17. the random challenges that pop up while you're questing is a pretty cool feature. I imagine blizzard will steal it.

i'm not too sure about how healing works, but from what i received in my first world boss raid (lvl 12, graveyard zergfest), it looks very similar to any kind of AOE healing from other games. spellslingers use a skillshot type targeted gun heal in a straight line for some of their moves. As far as espers, if you've played wow, their main raid heal looks comparable to shaman healing rain.

from a dps perspective, the healer's healing abilities place green zones on the ground, so when i need heals i look for those.

i'm digging it so far. got a level 16 mordesh spellslinger. having a house and a mount is fun.

working on leveling some dominion chars next.

what server is everyone on? i'm Avatus/Exile, Thunderfoot/Dominion.

It is an MMO that has graphic similarities to WoW. The combat is unique and really makes the game fun, using a "telegraph" system rather than tab target+ability/auto-attack. There is also a fun humorous tone to the game.

Deciding if it's worth the game purchase and monthly subscription. It's fun but I'm only at ~lvl 13 so I don't really know much about later in the game, raids, real boss fights, mounts, PVP, etc.

i don't really know much about how end game works, which is why i'm not in a rush to 50 to let people learn about it first. i'm 32 now and am leveling in farside and its definitely one of the funnest zones in the game BY FAR. up to this point i've only done 2 "world bosses" which had mostly been graveyard zergs since we were only in the teens at the time, but they do end up rewarding loot to most of the participants (similar to the WoW LFR style loot system)

what i do like is the difficulty of the game so far. definitely got my ass kicked quite a bit in the open world. dungeons are also no joke, even the lowest level ones.

i'm not really paying for any other online games ATM so i'm going to ride this one out till the WoW xpac / dragon age inquisition drops.

This game feels like a cross between Star Wars the Old Republic, Borderlands, and WoW.

That being said, I'm still enjoying it, but I haven't put much time into it yet. Just started the second big area.

really enjoying the questing ever since level 30 (44 now). the combat system makes the game more dynamic and enjoyable. but really it all depends on how max level gameplay goes to test if this is a winner or not.

good god. this game gets frustrating sometimes. boss mechanics are so unforgiving. nothing worse than dodge rolling right into another telegraph and getting instagibbed
