I know nothing about it, other than it's trunk shaped, made of wood, with a metal interior.

is it made from teak? and do the holes go through the top or are they where nobs should have been

eh, I'm 200 miles from it now, but the holes do go all the way through the top, like you could stick a rod through to rotate something inside the cylinders. I don't recall the species, though doesn't it look like oak. Could be teak. I'm not good with wood identification. Someone get that book in here, STAT.
