Google was marginally useful, so I figured I would ask here.

do you by any chance have a cue sheet?

if so, i think CUE splitter will do MP3s: http://www.medieval.it/cuesplitter-pc/menu-id-71.html

if not, do it manually with audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

All I have are the track beginning and end times written down, so I will try the manual method. Thank you.

I love audacity. Simple as highlight, CTRL+X or C(cut/copy), CTRL+N(new), CTRL+V(paste).

Ehhh. Audacity isn't working so well for me. It locks up every time I open/import the song. I don't know if it doesn't like it being 9hrs long or what.

you may wanna look into something a little more skilled than audacity. It's a great simple program but lacks the real features for long drawn out recordings or sessions.

sony has a good program that you can find reviews on cnet or download on oldversion i think.

I like Ableton as well.

The sony one is simple and garageband like.

He's asking how to cut an already recorded source into multiple sections. You can do this in 5 seconds in Audacity. I haven't used audicity in years but the issue is probably that it creates a wav of that source when importing and 9 hours of wav is probably like 30gb or something.

I'm Krallum and I approved this message.

I decided to give Audacity another shot and this time, I was patient in letting it fully load and process (even though the program was not indicating anything). This time, it totally worked, and I am in the process of getting everything parsed out.

My next question is am I likely to notice a sound quality difference since it converted it from .mp3 to .wav?

You shouldn't notice a sound quality difference converting mp3 to wav.

You may notice a difference converting wav to mp3.

yeah, you've already lost the quality when it was converted to mp3, so you shouldn't lose any more
