Surprised to not see a thread about this yet. Anyone been playing the demo lately? Not a fan of how they laid the controls out but fortunately you can map them to different buttons in the full game.

So far Villager seems OP but its nearly impossible to hit a human player with the tree (although CPUs will just walk right into it). Megaman is kind of a let down. Really looking forward to Little Mac and Greninja.

Downloaded it on my kids 3DS's. Played for a few minutes. I never play it on handhelds though, so I will wait and play the WiiU version on its arrival.

Played the demo, mostly for Mega Man. It looks like it's shaping up pretty well, I'll probably play the 3DS version when I'm traveling but mostly stick to the Wii U version at home.

Took it to lunch with me to play the demo with some friends in the cafeteria. It was real fun.

If anyone is interested in taking a look at all of the custom movesets:

Been playing the heck out of this all week. Online is still ass, but better than Brawl. I'm having a lot of fun playing all the different modes and completing challenges.

Yeah its real fun. Dangerous to take it to the bathroom with you else you'll end up sitting on the toilet for an hour.

One thing I read yesterday -- if you are playing online, while selecting characters try changing the color of your character -- if there is lag while doing that, there will be lag in the actual game so just quit from there. If there is no lag while changing colors you should be good. I have only played a handful of matches online and this seemed to work pretty well.

I'm pleased with how buffed Captain Falcon is but extremely upset with how much they nerfed Fox. Zero Suit Samus and Greninja are great. Oddly, Pac-Man is very fun too.

Does anybody actually play this? Considering how there's been no activity on here, I'd venture to say that's a no. Still, I'd be willing to trade friend codes if anyone wants to play.

I love Little Mac. We play at time at home. Had a coworker over this week and did 5 player games with the kiddos.

I play it with friends through local multiplayer all the time. Don't really play that much online since Nintendo still hasn't gotten their act together with their online gaming network. My games are always laggy as hell which is strange because I've been playing Splatoon online lately with absolutely zero lag.

Also the fact that you can only stock battle games online is through 2-stock on Omega stages is frustrating. Nintendo refuses to admit that nobody likes timed matches.

Nintendo is a strange beast.
Every large project seems to have at least one well-lit gangrenous tumor highlighting where they bent over backwards to lose money, respect and appeal.

^It's truly odd. There is always something that makes their games fall just short of being perfect. They are usually pretty fun and I have a great time playing them, but there is always ONE thing about them that is just so frustratingly stupid.

I haven't even bothered with online, but my brother is on some online smash site that more or less acts like a ranking site. He arranges online matches with other players there. Apparently it's good enough for him despite living in bumfuck NC.

I play occasionally with friends on a Friday during our normal get-togethers. Just heard today that in addition to adding MewTwo, they just added Lucus, Roy, and Ryu (yes, from Street Fighter). Apparently Ryu's move-set follows the Street Fighter format and allows him to have strong and weak attacks. He will likely need a LOT of tuning, haha.

Haven't played Ryu but I watched some videos on YouTube. Apparently his move input is the same as his original Street Fighter 2 input but you can do it through standard smash button inputs too. His Shoryuken has an instant knockout if you hit the person just right with it. Lots of variability for combos.
