Mac Demarco was easily my favorite this year.

I'd probably say FI and War on Drugs are my other two most listened to.

if I did rank them, I'd put Mac Demarco #1 for all of the hours I've spent going down a Mac Demarco wormhole on YouTube.

swans was the only thing that blew me away this year, so all the things I listened to the most in no particular order after that:

swans - to be kind
the war on drugs - lost in the dream
the new pornographers - brill bruisers
ty segall - manipulator
st vincent - st vincent
sharon van etten - are we there
smashing pumpkins - adore reissue

a lot of solid albums this year, but 2012 and 2013 were a little better, I think

Yo if you like Bastard Sapling you should DEFINITELY check out Alraune.

^You should check out Yautja if you haven't. The drummer from Alraune plays in a post sludge/hardcore type band that is pretty rad. They also released an album this year that is great. https://yautja.bandcamp.com/track/of-descent

Listed to a good bit of Pitchfork's top 10 albums, honestly the only one that got me to perk up at my desk was FKA Twigs. A couple of the tracks on RTJ2 were nice too.

Although listening to Caribou now, that's pretty good.

Not only was RTJ2 one of the best albums of the year, it's a reminder that Zach de la Rocha is still alive.

i don't think it got a lot of love around here or anywhere else, but the men's new one was probably my favorite album to start drinking to after work on fridays for a while. and it was probably the best album with a rolling stones exile on main street style song

Cloud Nothings had the only one album that kept me intrigued front to back.

Can't Do Without You is my favorite single.
