If this prevents another GTA IV launch I am all for it, but GTA IV launched along side consoles. This time they are taking one and a half years to do it...
I just want the modders to get their hands on the game and this is 2 more months. Also I am pretty sure when PC players get in these 30 player online modes they are going to set the Rockstar servers on fire.

Sorry I didn't check the image links, my image zoom add-on was trying to show the 4K image so I figured they were direct links.
Also Rockstar confirmed the system specs and did you notice that the install size is 65GB? That may take the cake for largest install size of any PC game, good thing I just got a 500GB Samsung 850 EVO. Apparently you need a DVD Drive for a 65GB game. Are they going to put 8x DVD disks in the retail box? Do they even sell PC games in stores anymore?
"NVIDIA recomended if running Vista OS"??
Quote : | "Minimum specifications: OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS) Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz Memory: 4GB Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11) Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible HDD Space: 65GB DVD Drive

Few other notes on the game and requirements:
Quote : | "Over time, downloadable content and programming changes will change the system requirements for this game. " |
We will have to be connected to the internet constantly so they can "entitle" us. I'm assuming "single use serial code" means once we tie it to our Rockstar account if we need to reinstall it will work like Steam or UPlay does. I'm not sure on the hardware attribute part.
Quote : | "Installation and online play requires log-in to Rockstar Games Social Club (13+) network; internet connection required for activation, online play, and periodic entitlement verification; software installations required including Rockstar Games Social Club platform, DirectX, Chromium, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 sp1 Redistributable Package, and authentication software that recognizes certain hardware attributes for entitlement, digital rights management, system, and other support purposes. Single use serial code registration via internet required; registration is limited to one Rockstar Games Social Club Account (13+) per serial code; only one log-in allowed per Social Club account at any time; serial code(s) are non-transferable once used; Social Club accounts are non-transferrable. ^^^ likely that you'll just be downloading the game... you'll just be required to have a physical disc (the hardware drm check) in the drive so they can entitle you 1/14/2015 10:34:15 PM |

^ very true, didn't think about that. I just don't think places like Best Buy carry any PC Games anymore.
BTW, Pre-Purchasing is finally available, but I was hoping for better perks. I still Pre-Purchased as I have always bought every GTA from GTA 2 onward as soon as it was available 1/17/2015 11:09:05 PM |

Quote : | "GTAV for PC will be arriving on April 14th at retail and as a digital download. Our apologies to PC gamers worldwide who have been counting down the days until the launch of the game, but a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible, and to make certain that both Heists and the GTA Online experience are ready to roll out on day one for PC. As a gesture of thanks for your understanding, we will grant anyone who has pre-ordered the game an additional $200,000 in-game cash for use in GTA Online.
As always, we ask for the GTA PC community’s understanding and assistance in helping to report any concerns during the early days of launch when those inevitable initial teething issues arise on the new platform. If you do experience issues please visit Rockstar Games Support and send feedback to GTAOnline@rockstargames.com – we’ll be closely monitoring the situation and addressing any hitches as quickly as we can.
The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V is our most graphically and technically advanced version yet, fully optimized to support a broad range of current hardware (system specifications) and features a host of PC-specific enhancements including greater levels of detail, deep configuration options and ultra-high-definition support – as well as the powerful new Rockstar Editor for recording, staging and editing original custom videos.
We thank GTA players worldwide for their patience in awaiting these big game updates and we are excited to bring both Heists and GTAV for PC to you very soon. Please stay tuned for lots more information in the weeks ahead and for now, check out some new screens showing action from Heists." |

Would you rather they released a broken game earlier? 2/24/2015 11:43:36 AM |

I would rather get the core game now without GTA Online/Heists and have them add it in when it is ready. I want to see an official SDK release for the modding community that allows MP mods.
Also I am pretty sure 95% of the people who already bought GTA V would rather have the core game without GTA Online/Heists now and get that later (just like consoles). 2/24/2015 11:49:55 AM |

Well for some reason the date was changed to today at 7PM on Steam, instead of tomorrow.
This is probably the first PC game release I have literally been excited about since BF3 was released (2011) and possibly the biggest release since Crysis 1.
Can't wait to see the mods that are going to come, GTA IV's mods were already insane and GTA V's base content is going to be one hell of a starting point for modders.
I have 23 friends on Steam that have pre-ordered, I don't know of any other game where I had more people who owned the pre-order than who "wanted" the game (23 vs 14).

Quote : | "In what will no doubt come as the least surprising news of the week, if not the entire month, Grand Theft Auto 5 has set a new peak concurrent user record for a non-Valve game on Steam.
GTA 5 peaked at a little over 300,000 concurrent users yesterday, according to GamesIndustry International.
The number also handily dispatches the previous record, set by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim back in 2011. " |

Literally turned every setting to the max and getting 40-50 fps just to see how it would run. Then I learned there's a couple huge performance hits if you turn a few things up. Don't put grass at ultra, turn MSAA to x2 from x4 and shadows down to very high. Not a huge visual impact but I'm getting 70-90 fps now. I haven't read a performance review yet that sets everything at max yet. 4/17/2015 10:17:40 AM |

How many monitors are you using? Heard it supports up to 3 4/17/2015 11:55:59 AM |
neodata686 All American 11577 Posts user info edit post |
^Just one. Multi-monitor gaming isn't anything new. The majority of games today support Nvidia surround (with 3D if you have the horsepower) or AMD Eyefinity.
I tried it with GTA5 but my primary gaming monitor is 120hz and my other 2 ones are only 60hz and I have to turn all the graphics to medium-high to get three monitors running. I'd rather just run it on my main monitor maxed out at 80-90fps. Much nicer experience. 4/17/2015 1:55:15 PM |

Got a weird bug where every time I launch the game it's locked at 60hz. I have to manually go into settings and change/revert the settings back to 120hz to get it to display higher than 60fps. 4/26/2015 12:13:41 AM |

my system was "patching" the same 300mb overnight and downloaded the same 300mb to the tune of 500GB. i really hope comcast doesn't enforce the 300gb cap. had to reinstall and redownload the whole game as the corrupt download fucked the whole game.
anyone gotten the game to work properly with limelight streaming or steam stream? I want to play on my tv with a controller, but none of the streaming works seems to work right for this game. 4/26/2015 7:21:38 PM |

Wait Comcast has a monthly cap? I wasn't aware of this.
I've tried it on Steamstreaming and it works ok. There's some weird visual artifacts (blocks like a bad digital signal). Haven't tried it on Limelight yet though. I'll try and give it a shot later tonight. Right now I'm just playing with a controller at my desk. 4/26/2015 7:27:56 PM |
