Here are some of my screenshots. If you want to run the game at full settings @ 1080p with the NVIDIA bells and whistles expect to use over 3.5GB of VRAM as you'll see in my screens with the Afterburner OSD.

I can't really judge the game play because I haven't had enough time yet. However these screens can show you what it looks like running on a 3770K + GTX 970 rig (passed 3.5GB with no issues for the geeks out there), full size links after every screen.

Anyone else playing it? I wonder if this will occupy the time between now and March 24th.

any information on this would be nice. I had a gamestop dude trying to sell me on this game the other day. I know next to nothing about it however. It looks good, but is it worth dropping monies on?

Bragging about my rig? I figured people would be interested to know the FPS shown and what I was using considering this is a pretty taxing game on a PC.

Did you miss this part of the OP?

I linked to a review in the OP also, plenty of information on gameplay there.

A few things I can definitely say as of now is the running/jumping/sliding agility system is awesome (very close to Mirrors Edge). The things you can craft are pretty impressive for a game like this and of course the killing mechanics are some of the best I've seen for a zombie game.

You have a skill tree similar to Far Cry 3/4 that lets you customize your player to your play style and it is pretty slick in how useful some of your skill tree selections are. For example you can combine the sliding breaking leg ability with the head stomp ability to take down a zombie or two very easily. However if you get caught in a pack or any loud noise happens (sometimes you don't cause this) you better start climbing. I've seen a mob at least 100 strong before and you use things like Firecrackers to draw them somewhere and either run of start toss moltovs on them.

http://www5.picturepush.com/photo/a/14520028/img/14520028.jpg

The storyline so far is entertaining and honestly after Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed, The Crew, etc., this is one of the best "Triple A" titles to launch in the past 6-12 months. This is the first game on Chrome Engine 6 (another reason I posted 2 parts of my PC) and for a brand new engine the game is really stable and looks awesome (see below).

The gameplay is not repetitive at all if you don't just run from point A to B for missions. You have the choice of going on main storyline missions, side missions (completely separate from the main storyline), challenges, Co-Op, MP, exploring and scavenging supplies/valuables for everything previous. The world is very large and very very open. Almost all buildings can be accessed and are extremely detailed (this is why I mentioned VRAM usage). The zombies and other things increase in difficulty as your player progresses to keep it from getting easy (even with guns, it's not easy at all). You have to be really selective on the weapons you use based on the scenario that is presented and you have to decide fast. In terms of zombies/creatures in the world there are your general zombies and then you have special zombies/creatures that appear randomly or only in certain circumstances (like night for example). I haven't even seen probably half the weapons yet and already it is a huge amount to choose from. During Co-Op you have the option of making almost anything in the environment or involving a mission you are doing with a friend into a challenge. Based on what I have seen, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys at least 2 out of the 3 games in the Thread Title and has a rig that can run it smoothly. This is the first game that has possibly lived up to the hype surrounding it, but I still can't judge it until I have more time. I haven't even had a chance to try Multi-Player yet.

All of these screens are during Gameplay, no cut scenes.

March 24th is when GTA V launches on the PC.

Also there is no way in hell this is going to be $20 in 4 months. That would be 63.33% off which would never happen that fast. Hell look at The Evil Within, the best we have seen on it is $20 off and that game sucks compared to this.

I'd say $45-$50 during the Summer sale considering this game is averaging an 80/100 and The Evil Within only managed a 68/100.

If you are waiting for that price you may as well go ahead and torrent it. I torrented it first to check performance/some gameplay and then I bought it, that is what the game offers.

Few more screens:

I have a lot more from Steam captures, but I think there are enough in the thread already.

Without doing research because I'm lazy. You're living in a zombie apoc and have to survive by upgrading your character and doing story line missions. Am I close enough?

What is the multilayer like?

My survivor agility and power are leveling about the same, is everyone else seeing that? I haven't tried it yet but I heard that the co-op is at night with you and a couple guys fighting a nasty zombie, and that if you preordered you can play as the zombie

The best way to level your power ability is to craft up enough moltovs and firecrackers to go on the bridge and take out everything during the night. You can easily hide from the specials between the vehicles when they show up.

My power is 24 and my agility is 14, so they aren't even close.

You get double points on both at night and you get rewarded on your survivor for it. If you do die you don't lose any survivor points, but you lose all loot you picked up at night. During the day if you die you lose a lot of survivor points, but you keep all the loot you picked up.

Co-Op is fun if you have someone playing similar to how you play. If you like to fight and search places out and your buddy is constantly running away from everything, it can get annoying for both of you. Also you don't need a friend to complete anything, I'd almost rather just explore with my friends and do the missions myself. One good thing about co-op is you can get credit for side missions you never even picked up, but you will be able to do the again from start to finish when you do pick them up. So basically you get to do them twice and get rewarded twice for any quest a buddy has that you haven't started.

On the zombie/pre-order deal, when I had the torrented copy that option was there, but I haven't noticed it since getting a retail copy through Steam. So, apparently anyone that pre-ordered can play as a zombie against you, but I'm not sure which zombie it is they play.

Oh, btw, the zombies that chase you at night (see my shotgun picture above) if you can get point blank with them using a shotgun, 2 shells will always put them down (shotgun does over 1500 dmg per shell). So once you find the shotgun you can easily survive every night alone, but a friend does help (also your friends can heal you during certain times of the game, but not during missions for example).

I got bored with this title early on, but that's just me.

It did make me want to dust off Dead Island but that's probably me remembering the game more favorably than what's merited.

Am enjoying it so far. Going out at night is a death sentence. Absolutely insane and frightening. I haven't jumped out of my seat because of a video game since resident evil when I was 10 years old. This one got me on more than one occasion tonight

enjoying this more and more the more I play it. They really captured the fear of night time. I have only ventured out once or twice and my God was my heart pumping the entire time. Died both times as well, lol. Its terrible, in a good way

well, for one, your vision is significantly impaired...as it should be at night in an abandoned city with no power. All you have is a flashlight that attracts zombies.

For two, there are different types of zombies out at night...more aggresive/faster/more deadly type zombies. If they catch a glimpse of you, you're basically toast. The game helps you a little bit by showing you where they are on your mini map and their cone of vision. However, the other less aggresive zombies can still get you and if you make the slightest bit of noise with them, it will attract the aggresive ones. When one aggresive gets on you...theres gonna be alot more in a short time span. Its just...hectic

The game becomes a cakewalk once you hit level 25, even at night. After that the constant running back and forth across the city to do quests gets old very quick.

At least that's my experience. Decent at the beginning, had to all but force myself to complete.

Yeah. My "mistake" was focusing on returning the supplies from the air drops which leveled me quickly. I then focused on the side quests and all the back and forth associated with those made all the traveling wear out its welcome. I was burnt out by the time I started on the main story quests.

Played for a couple hours last night. Was definitely fun. Zombies are pretty hard to kill initially. Been trying to get through Dead Rising 3. This is much more fun.

--Did pass 3GB of of vram on my 980. Runs smoothly with viewing distance maxed out at 50-60 fps.
