For anyone interested, the beta is going to be going public tomorrow at 7AM EST. Just install Origin (yea it sucks..) and then hit the Store tab and then hold your mouse over Free Games and at the bottom you'll see Demos and Betas. Then just tell it to Pre-Load Hardline Beta and you'll be set tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to try the first Beta and apparently this one is going to be closer to the eventual release of the retail product.

This may be a great game from what friends I know said who played the first beta (who pre-ordered after), but personally I have no experience with it. So this is more of a FYI thread.

If you own PayDay 2, BF3 or BF4 and CS:S or CS:GO then this game is a waste of time.

I expected PayDay 2 with the Frosbite engine and more freedom/options, what I got was a pile of shit. I wouldn't pay $25 for that game..

Some of the maps are built off BF3/4 maps, such as the one heist map in the Beta. The shooting mechanics are like CS:S with a gameplay theme sort of like PayDay 1/2 (that is insulting those 2 games). However it fails completely to do anything right. It is like that F35 fighter jet/bomber, it's a game trying to be a jack of all trades and fails in general on all fronts.

I wouldn't even bother downloading the Beta if I knew what I just learned. That game is basically BF4 with cops vs thieves instead of two/three countries fighting and the maps are now more "local" and smaller. The game pace is stupidly fast for something trying to come off as a cop vs. robbers game. Unless they make huge changes that game is going to bomb in reviews. I can't see any reason to buy that with GTA V on 1.5 months away and the heist missions coming with the launch.

BTW, the graphics look like you are playing HL2 and the sound is horrible compared to other modern games. I can't believe that is a public beta.

The last BF game that wasn't disappointing to me was Battlefield II

BF1942 is still the best they ever made and yes I remember Desert Combat mod, once it released I stopped playing the normal version.

BF1942 was much more than a game

Did people even noe that you could drive/pilot/swim/(wtf do you call this) submarines in that game?

bf3 was the last good game in the series. 4 was a pile of shit that didn't work right for months. by the time it worked ok, the community was gone. pissed i spent $20 on that game
