Was anyone on TWW victimized by this company? It appears to be defunct, but used to manage many properties around NCSU. The have multiple complaints of not only stolen tenant security deposits, but also collecting rent money for months on end and never sending it to the landlord. On the BBB website a disgruntled former client says the owner was spending lavishly on pet monkeys while stealing tenant and client funds, which a Facebook search seems to substantiate.

Pretty sure these folks own/owned Champion Court, which is a dump. Not that surprised they are tricksters.

^ Sounds like a job for TWW Action News. One of our ace reporters who is not currently employed and living in Wake Co. should show up at the courthouse tomorrow and get a comment.

I don't understand how in the world some of those owners let a year go by without getting rental income deposits. I'd be lawyering up and/or changing management companies after a month or two of missing deposits a few days past the expected deposit date unless there was an explanation provided.[Edited on February 17, 2015 at 2:53 PM. I thought that too, but on the other hand that is what she is hired to do. Some of her clients probably worked demanding jobs, live out of area, or had a cushion of money in their operating account (possibly built up over time). Many folks are not good at managing things, not really an excuse but just how they are, that's why they hire professionals. Assuming she had worked with these clients for a period of time, she probably had a decent rapport with them and maybe they did not suspect anything was amiss until it had gotten really bad. Once they found out they may have already lost more time and money buying in to her excuses.

Rented one of the properties she managed back in 2009-2010 and didn't really have any problems as a renter. I'm pretty sure when we left the owner posted the property through a different management company so maybe there were problems on his end.

I'd be pretty upset if this woman ripped me off for thousands and all she got was some community service. I'd def have that monkey's head on a stick.[Edited on February 22, 2015 at 11:36 AM. Reason : e]

She didn't just get community service, though that may be wrapped up in her punishment. Per the dps link above, she go two sentences of 3 years of supervised probation running concurrently. 3 years is a long time and leaves lots of opportunity for her to screw up and have her suspended sentence activated. From the victim side, she almost certainly has some serious restitution to pay back as a condition of her probation.
2/22/2015 12:19:03 PM
She also can't vote for at least those 3 years, and can't own a firearm (legally) for the rest of her life. And yes, I'm sure she had to pay the money back in one way or another, and will practically be broke for a very long time.

Hahaha, wife and I rented a townhouse in Wake Forest from this company in 2011. Management was fine, but when we left early we had a horrible time dealing with these folks.Fuck em.
