I'm going to be tired at work on Friday.

For us to win, our guards have to dominate their guards. LSU will kill us in the paint in terms of scoring, but we need to do the same to them on the perimeter. Hope Turner come out hot and Barber is in full attack mode. If we can get either of their studs in the middle in foul trouble, then watch out. Anya needs to stay out of foul trouble too as we need him logging big minutes in this game and not Washington.

Apparently LSU only goes 6 deep with significant minutes, but 4 starters are double figure scorers. Sounds a little like our team a couple years back when we ran 7 deep and all five starters went double figures in scoring.

Would be awesome if we can get them in any sort of foul trouble. Cat and Lacey need to attack the rim early.

I just really hope our guys are not eyeing Nova and stay focused this game. We know our winning formula: Bigs play tough D with rebounding and blocks, Guards hit threes and limit TO. Our bigs have had great Defensive games vs quality opponents, but they have been inconsistent, starting with Anya. Play with passion like most of the last season. Cat does not need to be super man, but play with confidence. I hope he is not emotionally rattled by his injury.

Key to the game: must shoot well from three (at or above our season avg). Scoring inside is going to be too tough, unless we get lucky with getting their bigs hit with ticky tack fouls like we did vs Georgetown a few years back.

I don't know why everybody is sleeping on Nova. Just because ESPN hasn't been slurping them off all year like Kentucky, Duke, and Wisconsin, it doesn't mean that they are gonna be some push over #1 seed like Gonzaga and Washington always seem to be.

don't have a good feeling about this game, but there have been few that i have had a good feeling about this season. Guards are gonna have to hit alot of shots. I wish the game were earlier in the day as I'm off on Thursday but have to work on Friday. Oh well.

Villanova is a guard led team. Their Top 4 scorers are all guards and all shoot 37%+ from 3. Two of those guards are in the 6'5-6'6 range. The other two are 6'2-6'3. Their two big men are Pinkston(6'7) who averages 9.5 and 6.5 and Ochefu(6'11) who averages 9.5 and 8.5.

So it looks like they've got 4 guards that average double figures and then two big men that are right around 9 points per game. After that, they've got a 6'6 255 pounder off the bench averaging 5 ppg and a 6'2 freshman guard off the bench averaging 6 ppg.

Your typical guard driven, upper class laden Villanova team under Jay Wright. Quick, scrappy. If their guards are hitting their shots, they would be tough for us to overcome...IMO.

LSU has nearly mirrored State with disappointing losses this season. Its been real torture as someone who is an alumnus of both schools.

Both teams play up to their competition and down to their competition. So Im not sure if both teams will play like shit or play their best

As expected, I like our chances more against Villanova in the next round than I do us winning this game. That being said I fully expect either Villanova to lose to the 16 seed and we lose to LSU, or us to lose to the 16 seed in the next round lol.

This is why I prepare a bracket for each NC State team. Bracket #1 is the NC State team we all love and admire. Bracket #2 is the NC State team that we watch out of obligation, like the parent who cheers on their kid, even when they trip and face plant on the way to the basket.
