Rocky intelligence through the movies:

In Rocky 1 and 2 : he is retarded and can't even read cue cards for commercials.

In Rocky 3 and 4 : he is able to speak articulately and displays basic cognitive function.

In Rocky 5 : he is retarded (suffering from brain damage)

In Rocky 6: he is a charismatic, thoughtful, and wise restaurant owner.

I have always been annoyed a bit by the opening of Rocky IV. Now, I must say that my love of boxing goes as deep as the philosophical aspect of training your mind and body to exist right on the line between anger and fear. That is some heavy Jedi shit right there.

BUT, in terms of technical strengths, I don't have much personal experience with the training and strategy behind actually winning a fight. So, here is my question, isn't the opening Creed vs. Drago fight fairly unrealistic? Wouldn't a light, nimble but very powerful Creed just dance around and exhaust a big dumb oaf like Drago? He is obviously not that technically skilled and just has his right arm cocked and ready the whole time. Isn't that fairly unrealistic and silly?

Creed was old and had a lot of ring rust. He retired after losing in Rocky II remember.

I've only seen Creed, haven't seen Creed 2 yet. But how is it not in the same universe? They literally play clips/flashbacks from Rocky 2 in Creed.

In the Rocky universe, Rocky himself is obviously famous but is his run up the steps famous? In the first Rocky he just runs by himself right? Are there scenes is other movies where he does it a bunch and the whole city knows? I'm genuinely asking.

I just answered this myself with Google. In Rocky II the everyone follows him on his run. The more you know!

Yea no worries. I've got no issues with the Rocky movies just never really dug in. I think I've seen the first 3 but obviously I don't remember 2 that well.
