Cool, thanks for reminding me of this; I've been meaning to check this out because I hear it was inspired by Lars von Trier's Riget (The Kingdom) which is one of my all time favorites. Have you seen that? (I didn't really care for what little I saw of the Stephen King version)

i had not learned of this show until i watched the mighty boosh and snuff box, both solid shows in the same vein of darkplace.

cabbage, never hard of riget. is that also a show?

Yeah, it was a Danish mini-series in the 90's. There were two seasons of four episodes each. There was supposed to be a third, but some of the actors have passed and it's doubtful it will be finished. Unfortunately, it ends on a cliffhanger, but I'd still highly recommend it.
