im curious what the spread will be. Louisville played a tough schedule so far. If I'm a gambling man, which I am, I would guess Louisville -3 to under 1TD. 9/27/2015 4:48:49 PM |

I know about stubhub but always ask around because people within the network usually sell tickets to people they know are dedicated fans for a low price just to get them out of hand without filling the stands with the other team's fans. 9/27/2015 7:09:43 PM |

state -5 seems reasonable. i was thinking something along the lines of -3 or -4. i think we're better than louisville, although the records are certainly deceiving. but i think we should win this game. 9/27/2015 8:55:56 PM |

Not sure if that's THE board they use, but it gets a fair amount of activity. The only thing they keep saying about us is how we haven't played anyone, but only a couple seem concerned about the game. I think this is a bigger trap game for them than it is for us.9/28/2015 1:19:25 PM |

Yeah I was talking about their Scout board.
Seems like they just chalk all of our wins up to playing "no one" and they said that Samford was better than all 4 teams we beat.
They also think all their offensive problems were "fixed" last week. I don't know if it's fixed or not, but it always seemed like if they would limit the turnovers they'd be winning games. They probably would have beat Houston if they didn't have 5 turnovers. 9/28/2015 2:34:17 PM |

I'm still not impressed with their team, playing a lot of good teams close is like taking a lot of difficult courses and almost passing, its still failing no matter how you look at it. I think we win this win comfortably as the team will be prepared and Carter Finley will be packed and rowdy. The key to beating us is to stop our run and to have a strong aerial attack but stopping our run is not easy as we have dynamic running backs who can pick up yards in a variety of ways. Also, Lousiville receivers are average but nothing special so even our struggling secondary shouldn't get burned too many times. I just don't see how they win or less its one of those games in which they're offense is clicking on all cylinders. 9/28/2015 2:45:25 PM |

Yeah I'm definitely not overlooking Louisville and I hope we don't get caught sleeping on them but I think with a packed home crowd and the confidence this team has, we should win comfortably. UofL has lost a bunch of close grinders where we've pretty much coasted over teams, dominating both road games. We should also see a more diverse offensive scheme for this game. They're a young team that's struggling to stay in the Atlantic race, playing in a tough stadium for their first real road game. I think we got this, and VTech isn't looking very scary either. If we can make it to the bye unscathed, I really like our chances for the ACCCG. 9/28/2015 2:53:58 PM |

without watching any of their game last week vs Samford, it definitely seems ridiculous to me that they suddenly solved all their issues in one week vs a shitty opponent. you can't really say "state hasn't played anybody" and "we solved all of our problems last week vs an FCS team". i mean, they're right. we have proven virtually nothing because we've played nobody of significance. but if you dismiss our results vs those weak opponents, don't you also have to dismiss louisville's results vs their weak opponent?
and of course louisville has played a difficult schedule...but houston is still houston. louisville should beat houston, especially at home. and auburn is completely unimpressive so far. so that loss looks much worse than it did at the time.
^ i don't think overlooking louisville will be an issue. 1) they have name recognition 2) it's our first ACC game 3) it's our first game vs a name opponent 4) it's our first game back home after being on the road 2 straight weeks. to me, we have every reason in the world to come out with excitement and energy. obviously, that doesn't guarantee it will happen and it definitely doesn't guarantee a win. but there's no excuse for coming out flat in this one.9/28/2015 3:09:32 PM |

I meant more that the fans shouldn't overlook Louisville, it's going to be a real game. I'm sure Doeren and staff are working around the clock to get this right, as will UofL's staff. This game is huge for both programs. With that being said, I think there's way more going on in our favor than theirs.
I've been looking forward to this game since the schedule came out. It's also my birthday Saturday

^yep. their QB will be starting his first road game, in a potentially gross, rainy mess. i think that will also help us. from what i watched of their game against Clemson, their OL was pretty awful. however, this new QB is mobile and can probably help cover that up to a degree.
if we can control the clock like we have all season (1st in the nation in TOP), that will be really big. don't allow their freshman QB to get into a rhythm, keep their D on the field, and RUN THE DANG BAWL.
maybe it's just because we haven't played anybody so far this season, but i'm not sure i remember being this excited for a football game in a couple of seasons 9/29/2015 8:31:10 AM |

A running/muddy game is certainly going to be interesting. I like our front 4 on D and like we have plenty of bodies to rotate, but their QB is a really good runner(180+ rushing yards last week) and we haven't really seen Brissett running a ton so far(that's a good thing). Would be interesting to see if we run our base 4-2-5 and leave the extra safety to spy the QB the whole game.
Curious to see if our OL can hold up against an ACC-level DL that is anchored by 2 solid DTs. If our OL can't control the LOS against Louisville, we're going to struggle against VT. 9/29/2015 10:15:03 AM |
