Wife's job in VA is ending, so is her company car. Need a larger SUV (dogs, kid etc), but not quite Tahoe large.

Been looking at 2009-2011 and 2012-2015 Honda Pilots. Apparently there was an update in 2012, dont know what that is yet. Dont really need it to be AWD in Raleigh, would be fine with just FWD. Looking to stay under $20K, and under 125K miles.

Any experience with the Pilots? Issues to watch out for?

We have one, one of the 2012-2015 models and absolutely love it. Drives great, ton of space but it doesn't feel big. I couldn't find anything that offered more at that price range.

I have a 2013 Touring AWD. In hindsight I would get EX-L with rear entertainment. The built-in nav sucks. Other than a couple of relatively minor gripes I love it.

They improved the braking in 2012 model year so I recommend that or newer.

Also, just FYI, I average ~19 mpg with AWD. You'll probably see 20-21 with FWD. If you have any specific questions let me know.
