So I'm trying to get over the air HD channels. Lower level of 2 story house, TV next to a window. I've tried 2 different indoor HDTV antennas. One was the highest rated buy on amazon, and another is a $40 antenna from walmart. I can't pick up anything. I'm about 12 miles from uptown Charlotte. I've put it in the window, tried moving it higher, moved it all around etc. No Luck. Am I going to have to use an outdoor antenna?

how old is your tv, are you sure it has a digital tuner? 9/8/2016 3:12:17 PM |

It's a newish TCL. It has a digital tuner bc I did pick up 3 channels at one point with he 1st antenna I tried, but it was with my wife holding it in mid air in a certain position in my room. I'm not real sure why the signal is so bad. According to everything i read, I'm in a great location with strong signals. 9/8/2016 3:25:23 PM |

does anyone have the amazon basics antenna?
thinking about upgrading from Fire Stick to standard Fire TV and getting the bundle with the antenna.
currently i have a powered RCA antenna with rabbit ears. It works great, but takes up a bit of space. Wondering if this amazon antenna would be a better option. 12/22/2016 10:56:48 AM |

BTTT. moved and it's time to retire the old RCA rabbit ears.
Can anyone share some experience with the flat panel indoor antennas mounted behind the TV? I'd like to do this (if possible) to avoid running it over to the window. my RCA was able to get 18-20 channels pretty clear sitting on my media console but that was with the two antenna arms at full length. Do these flat panels have a better range? I'm probably <15 miles to the major networks. The RCA was amplified. ] 4/3/2018 1:44:12 PM |

I'd still go with an amplified (especially if your setup isn't particularly close to a window), and spring the extra few bucks for a 50-mile just to be sure. 4/3/2018 1:56:18 PM |

i've had great results with the flat antenna's, but i've never had one work behind the tv. plan on running some coax and put the antenna in a better place. 4/3/2018 4:14:55 PM |

thanks. I got one with 20' of coax cable. I'm going to fish it in the wall and run it over to the window. 4/5/2018 8:52:55 AM |

do you have a cable jack on the wall, is cable already run in the house? if so just connect the tv to that, then connect the antenna to a jack in another room and connect the coax in the cable box outside 4/5/2018 3:15:05 PM |
