by just a push button or constant sound? Do you want to minimize use of pre-built integrated circuits (chips) or just try to use basic circuit components?
Is this something you want to just build on a breadboard or do you intend to solder?
a circuit like this would do the trick: http://www.next.gr/uploads/65/simple-tone-oscillator-generator-by-2n2222.jpg
A volume knob (which is the tone control), 2 transistors, and a speaker.
