Love love this game. Its perfect for killing time on a cardio bike or on the toilet. 20 minutes goes by in no time.
Most phone games are hot garbage but this sucks you in like crazy.
For android at the moment but I would play this on the PC if I could.
Dungeon crawler where each run is different. And its hard. You need to be efficient with your moves because you need food to keep you going.
You cant identify everything, you are not told how everything works. There is a great deal of complexity in whats going on. Think rules of D&D.
Its turned based so each time you touch the screen you need to think of what your doing before you do it.
All the videos online are awful but here

a roguelike on tdub!!?!?!?
I played pixel dungeon, but it's a bit bland. The UI is pretty good. Maybe I should try a mod. 1/2/2017 10:54:01 AM |

Finally beat this! Still a really good game. They might think of adding a bit more flexibility for identifying things or getting around curses. You end up carrying around an inventory full of items you never figure out what they are. And just selling it all. You can barely identify any of it because you need to know what your potions/scrolls do. And you don't want to waste them by drinking/throwing without knowing the affect.
Regardless its fun.
I think a ring of knowledge is key early on.

Grats. I'm sure it was hard.

This is a staple of the roguelike genre really. People are used to RPGs (with no permadeath) where they can hoard things forever and get out of danger by reloading. The game should be hard enough that you can't just hoard stuff all game and instead have to take some risks.
I definitely see how it can be annoying though. In my game, I have a system where each potion is known to be one of 3 possibilities, reducing the risk a bit.

Learned some tricks.
Raw meat can be thrown on fire traps or placed near you when you set yourself on fire to get past a book shelf or barrier. Raw meat can also be frozen and it will heal you slightly when eaten.
Traps can be triggered by throwing items on them. Also a source of cooking meat 1/16/2017 6:48:07 PM |
