so idiotic. on the surface, that point might be fair. 2 S16s, 4 NCAATs in 6 years is not bad at all. but the program is in complete free fall right now and nobody can say with any confidence that things will be any better next year or the year after if we kept Gott. this is a total trainwreck and this coach has done absolutely nothing to give us the confidence that the future under him is bright. that narrative is totally misguided and lacks context.

furthermore, the Duke/UNC is comment is stupid too. Duke and UNC are great. 1) that doesn't mean we can't be good also. we only play them 4-ish times/year. same as any other ACC teams. 2) we aren't mad because the program isn't at Duke's level. we're making a change because the "peak" of Gott's era was being a bubble team.

State fans get the reputation of being unrealistic, and i'm sure there's a good portion that are. but wanting to be better than a bubble team at best isn't delusional. wanting to not lose multiple games by 30+ points is not delusional. not standing for 2 straight losing seasons in years 5 and 6 isn't delusional either.

Yep, Markell driving to the basket was pretty fun to watch. Kinda a relief valve for DSJ too.


It seemed like PNC was maybe 1/3 of capacity? Pretty sad in there.

Any idea why Yurtseven didn't play more? I didn't watch but he was 3/3 from the field early in the game, and he didn't get into any foul trouble.

Doris Burke even pulled out the always annoying "they ran herb Sendak out of town". I guess he really showed us we messed up with his great coaching at Arizona State. The refs screwed us at the end calling a foul on Henderson for going for a rebound, a foul on Abu for going straight up, and a complete b.s. foul on DSJ when he got all ball on a block. We were getting it close and those three fouls didn't help.
