I thought the first two episodes were 100% Lynch. Loved every second of it

Guess I'll have to wait until it's out on DVD. Or will Netflix have it before then?

I heard Lynch talking about it on NPR the other day.

I plan on going back and watching Fire Walk with Me and the first two season prior to watching this one, it's been a while.

I've only watched the first two episodes. Definitely very David Lynch-y, but it feels very weird not to have music outside of the intro. Hoping that changes once Coop is back in Twin Peaks.

So I watched episodes 3 & 4 last night and SPOILER ALERT:

I expected random David Lynch stuff like the starry room that Cooper was in during episode 3. But don't really understand how there are/were 3 Coopers though: 1) the normal one, 2) his doppelganger, and 3) this Dougie Jones guy who was "manufactured for a purpose" or whatever.

Hoping Cooper gets back to Twin Peaks sooner rather than later though. Need to up the level of camp.

Do I need to watch the original series since this is a continuation?

I think it is safe to say this series makes no apologies or real effort to clue you in to what has happened. If you are a twin peaks virgin, you will be totally confused.

Spoiler:

So had Cooper decided to go through the wall in the first room, I guess he would have swapped with his doppleganger. Instead, he got fooled to go to the second one, and ended up trading with his dummy.

We started watching the original this week and are 6 episodes in. Really like it so far. It is very strange at times though which I figure is their style.

^ hang on to your hat.

I watched the series for the first time, and it goes crazy towards the end of S1.

Haven't really liked the last couple of episodes. Really hoping Cooper gets back to Twin Peaks soon. Right now it's like there's the main storyline with Cooper/Dougie and then it'll kind of randomly jump back to a character or two in Twin Peaks.

I'm officially on board with hating this revival. Not a damn thing has happened in 12 episodes.

It took far, far too long. But Coop back.

NO SPOILERS!

I was gifted the new series and just finished episode 7, i think (whoah, that was a weird one)

I'm enjoying it, really like the tone, i find the akwardness hilarious.

All the cameos are cool. Random as hell, but I thought the Michael Cera as a young Brando was funny.

I don't think you get to say NO SPOILERS this long after the season ended.

Also I haven't watched the new season yet.

I finished it, and have finished most of the special features...

Although some of it was really weird, and I can't say I followed all of it, I thought it was pretty awesome and hope they make another season. I also look forward to going back and watching Fire Walk with Me and the original series to see everyone 25 years younger (and hopefully to make more sense of the new one)

yeah, Fire Walk With Me is essential viewing before watching the new season

I'd love to have more episodes, but who knows if Lynch wants to

I read that Showtime was open to it, not sure about Lynch. In watching all the behind-the-scenes, he and all the actors seemed to love making it, for the most part, but he had a few rants about how rushed it was, how they don't have enough time to try different things and be experimental, and that this wasn't the way to film.... so who knows.
