I value Face's opinion over all others on this board, so Im feeling optimistic. We will win this game if we can limit big plays imo. Turnovers and time of possession will determine our fate.

They've had 3 weeks to prepare their offense with the new QB.
Our DL has generated NO pass-rush through 3 games, although we've been good against the run.
Their D is a LOT better than any defense we've played so far this year.
We're on the road.
They've had 3 weeks to watch our tape and prepare on defense.
We couldn't run on South Carolina or Marshall, and FSU has a top 10 DL in the nation.

This is going to go very badly. Opened as double-digit dogs, we're going to lose by 14+.

This will be Finley's "back to Earth" game as they decide to blitz a LOT and Derwin James causes us headaches.

our offense matches up best against aggressive defenses. especially aggressive dlines. we get the ball out quick to short routes all game and blitzes get stuck in no mans land. we wont have trouble scoring on them.our wrs are better and will win even more matches than last year.

their only hope is that their new qb is on fire and accurate and that our talented dline continues to be invisible so i like our chances.

I thought Florida State was a bit overrated before they lost Francious. Unless the new QB is better, I have them losing at least 4 games this season. I wish we were playing them later.

Their defensive system plays right into our hands. They overpursue and leave defenders in island coverage. Our quick, short passing game nullifies the pass rush and gives that style of defense fits. Matchup of styles is more important which is why we have more trouble with a defense like BC's than we do against Clemson or FSU.

Our D is really going to have to step up. Our schemes have seemed very vanilla. Hopefully that's b/c we've been saving all of the fancy stuff for later. If we cant trick them with the talent/experience we have on our D line, it'll never happen.

I mean, yeah. But according to the podcast (IPS), he surpassed 2 other qbs since arriving in the fall, including someone who has been on campus for multiple years and a 4-star qb who arrived in the spring. Staff has to like him enough to move a true freshmen that has the frame of KD to start. That or those other qbs suck.

Note: I have only listened to this random podcast while I worked so all this could be bunk.

it could be either way. he might be a star who they were going to make wait his turn for political reasons. also youd rather get 1 year of a good qb and 4 years of a great qb.

he also might be talented but a gunner who tries to do too much

I'd feel better if this were in raleigh. Get a true frosh QB in his first game in a loud road environment and he's more likely to shit the bed. At home and with time to prepare as the starter he may be more settled. Doesn't mean he will be great by any stretch. It's still his first game.
