Roy Williams having any specific and directly aimed hatred towards NC State is based off a few press conference statements and is more of the State fans who keep perpetuating belief in it's delusions of grandeur that anyone actually gives a fuck about NC State. For the most part, they don't. Williams just wants to win the game. If hyping it up for the local media means saying things like "I'd rather beat State than eat" and you're buying it as his 'hatred for State' then it's working. Huge eyeroll every time I have to read some users misinterpreted feelings from Roy Williams or go over and over and over and over and over the rivalry shit. Hopefully Keatts hates UNC, but as long as he wants to win the game more than Roy Williams does, I don't really give a shit about his feelings toward them.

Motivation is a strong dynamic in college sports. We often lose to ECU because we don't care about the game but ECU does. Most people at UNC dont care about us. Thats why we're able to beat them in football fairly consistently and why Duke often shuts the bed against us. They don't care. But Roy does care, he was an assistant back in the days when we weren't just some alsoran shit team. Do we pervade his thoughts constantly? No, but he cares enough to get his players - who absolutely do not give a shit about us - up for our games.

We’re able to beat them regularly in football because both teams are fairly equal. So it’s generally a pretty even series over the last several years. It’s different in basketball where one program is significantly better than the other. But we’re roughly equals in football.

If you have android get the Thuuz app. You put in your cable provider and it shows scores but also tells you what channel any game is on if it's on
