I don't see this happening. Top 25 would merit at least a 7 seed, and I can't see that happening with losses to NIU and Greensboro. If we had those wins we'd be a lock already and sitting pretty in the top 20.

I'd argue that FSU's losses to Oklahoma State and Wake Forest are slightly worse than our losses to NIU and UNCG

yet they're in the top-25 with fewer quality wins than us

Polls are silly. Oklahoma FINALLY dropped out of the top 25 this week - they've lost 8 of their last 10 games and 5 straight. But they still received a vote in the coaches poll this week. LOLOLOL.

Let's break it down:
Oklahoma State - 15-12 overall, RPI: 105 - neutral court
Wake Forest - 10-17 overall, RPI: 131 - away

vs.

UNI - 13-15 - RPI: 167 - neutral court
UNCG - 21-7 - RPI: 84 - home

Obviously the UNI loss is easily the worst loss of all of these 4, but UNCG could still end up a tourney team and could balance that out a bit. If UNCG makes the tourney, I'd agree with your assessment that losing to OSU and WF trumps losing to just UNI, but if UNCG doesn't make the tourney(doesn't win their tournament), then no, UNI sinks that comparison like a rock.

If we lose @GT and replace that game with UNCG, then it's not close and our losses are much worse.

Bubble isnt weak this year, and the teams around us are picking up more wins. If anything a couple 6-7 seeds are falling down towards the bubble, but we need teams below to start eliminating themselves and not many are doing it.

I think with our weak OOC SOS we can't feel safe unless we get to 22 wins (including ACCT). Basically can't afford to lose this one solely because Keatts decided to schedule Garbage State West 8 times instead of Slightly Less Garbage State East

^If we get to 10-8 in the ACC then we are probably in. 9-9 we are probably in as long as we win one game in the ACC Tournament. The one thing that could hurt us is if Iowa State, Iowa, Pitt, etc type teams win their conference tournament. That will leave us out.

I'm not saying we WILL miss if we get to 21 and then lose the first game in the ACCT, I'm just saying it'll be a nervous wait. The wins should be a nice ace in the hole, but it's always hard to know what the committee is going to focus on year to year

Back to BC, I wonder if everyone will get their wish and see more Batts/Markell lineups tonight. Feel like Beverly will be tough to play when Robinson and Bowman are both in.

Wasn't a lot of our schedule in place before Keatts showed up? If not, we're blaming him for wanting to play easier opponents when we're talking about a bunch of new starters and an entirely different system?

How much Batts plays really depends on what BC's defense is giving us. We've shot the 3 fairly well the last 2 games, but if they once again try to clog the lane and force us to be a shooting team, we're going to have to play Beverly and hope he can continue to improve on D. Batts just isn't a threat to shoot so he's going to create problems for us on offense.

Will be interesting to see how the game is called, after the last 2 road games being called REALLY tight by the refs, would be nice to see us go a game not being in foul trouble or the opposing team being in the bonus with 10 minutes to go. Though I wouldn't be mad to see Robinson in foul trouble early, maybe that's Beverly's gameplan, take charges, haha.
