The Finley comment was based on the fact that he hasn't been committal when asked about it so far so even the "insiders" aren't saying it's a given he'll play.

I think he's going to play, but also won't be confident about it until he comes out and says it.

^^^I saw a clip from the scholars award deal he attended up in NYC, essentially they asked him about the bowl game and he said "the team is excited about the opportunity" and "the team is looking forward to going down to Florida for a big game."

He never said he was playing or that he personally was excited to go down there and play, made sure to phrase it all for the team. Obviously it's not a lot but he hasn't really said much so I think it's people grasping at straws a bit.

Finley will have to step up his accuracy without Harmon to catch the jump balls. I am worried about our pass defense, and not having Pratt doesn't make me feel any better. Hope I am pleasantly surprised in this one.

^from what i understand, A&M's strength is their ground game. so that may bode well for us defensively. but yes, our pass D is suspect against everybody so that's always a legit concern.

no harmon sucks, obviously. but i think we'll be ok offensively. jakobi has been so money this year and guys like thayer thomas and emezie and cj riley (when he's not dropping balls) have been pretty good. i know they play different positions and are different players, but we didn't miss beat when jakobi was out early this year...thayer stepped into that role and was successful. and when steph louis went down emezie has filled in nicely. so we'll miss harmon...a player that good is irreplaceable for us. but we have enough capable weapons that i'm not terribly worried about us offensively. seems like jakobi has been finley's safety valve most of the season, so he may command more attention from the D with harmon out.
