I kinda feel like the next Avengers movie is kinda like Coca Cola. It's so well known, and it is so in the bag for fistfulls of money, that they don't really need to spend money to exercise.

I dunno if I completely agree with that. The next phase of the MCU will somewhat depend on the acceptance of Captain Marvel and the events of Endgame. I think they will have to put a lot into this to keep people coming back once they kill off Cap and Iron Man.

They’ve said that Spider-Man homecoming will be the film that sets the tone/kicks off the next stage of marvel films, so i don’t know that it will be as dependent on Captain Marvel as you think.

I've never seen a single episode of game of thrones.

I watched Ant-Man 2 before Ant-Man. Those are probably my favorite non-deadpool superhero movies.

Civil War was a good, cohesive, single storyline.

Avengers IW was like 2 or three mini movies cobbled together.

Infinity War was a grand experiment in movie making, but I won't really fault anyone who doesn't like it due to how reliant it is on other movies.

This was not a movie you could watch and enjoy without seeing anything else in the series.

It wasn't even a movie that you could watch the previous direct entries (Avengers and Age of Ultron) and enjoy the movie while knowing what's going on.

The movie asks poeple to be familiar with basically all 18 prior movies to understand everything in the plot.

Maybe that's too much to ask for a box office movie, but as someone who IS familiar with all 18 movies, it was incredible.

for what it's worth, i think there are probably 12 of those movies you can skip and still completely understand infinity war. you think someone needed to see incredible hulk or iron man 2?

One thing also to note -- Infinity War was one of the most hyped movies in cinematic history, and it managed to live up to the hype (in my opinion). That is something that isn't too common.

If the released footage is cutting room floor (and it could be, it's just random clips from various parts of the movie that last seconds each) then they put a lot of work into something they only planned to use to mislead people in a fake leak. It's possible.

And yes, you're going to want to avoid them. They reveal quite a bit.
