TAMU’s got a lotta money to throw around and outside of UK, the SEC is always pretty wide open. Buzz has done a good job at VT and I’m sure starting all over from scratch is harder than keeping a good thing going. But last I read, it sounded like he was kinda expected to take the job. Dunno if that’s changed, that was a few days ago.

VT is a bottom 3 ACC job (I'd argue only BC is worse). I'd say that it's a step up from VT. Neither has any real history of success, but TAMU has more resources, better amenities and IMO a better fanbase.

Plus, Cassell Coliseum is a dump. Also Buzz is from Texas, and those Texans sure do love being in Texas.

Also, I think the current environment has snuck up on some people. 15 years ago he would have just had to issue an apology and/or been fined some inconsequential amount of money.
