In other news, Miami just named a freshman as week 1 starter, beating out the incumbent and a highly rated transfer from OSU. New year, new coach, same Miami.

Oklahoma will be really really good. I’m not so sure Hurts will be Kyler Murray 2.0 though. But yeah, they’ve got a good shot at the playoff. The PAC 12 doesn’t have a playoff team. The Big 10 probably won’t...Michigan is good but not elite, I don’t see Ohio State being a playoff team this year but they are still pretty loaded. Both those teams feel like 10-2 type teams that probably get left out.

Seems like the obvious story lines are:

Maybe UGa gets the SEC 2 teams in the playoff?

Will Gus Malzahn get back on track at Auburn or is he cooked?

Is the Nebraska hype for real?

Is Texas actually back?

How soon does USC fire Clay Helton?

How far away from being “back” is FSU and if they have another bad year is Taggert done?

GT's offense was always going to look terrible. I actually thought their defense looked improved enough to win some games in the Coastal this year.

They have a roster full of triple option OL and QBs, it's going to take a bit of recruiting to fix that. But to be fair they were going against the #1 team in the country. I'm not ready to write GT off just yet, I think Clemson is going to embarrass everyone in the ACC this year.

It's why I don't think Lawrence can win the Heisman, I think there will only be 1-2 games in the regular season that he plays in the 4th quarter and it wouldn't surprise me to see him on the bench in 75% of their ACC games.

I know that last year was a great season for them, but they didn't exactly beat anyone great. They did beat WVU in their bowl game, but that team was without Will Grier, and there was already rumors of Dana Holgorsen leaving to be the Houston coach. Syracuse lost a lot of productive members from their 2018 team. I think there was only one pre-season prognosticator that actually looked through all the rosters and didn't buy into the hype and momentum carrying over into the 2019 season.

Hopefully we'll continue to grow as a team and keep on rolling with a win in Morgantown next week. My biggest worry with this team is that we might get up on teams and take our foot off the gas resulting in teams getting back in the game, which we saw last year as well. I'm cool with being the number two team in the Atlantic for now. Clemson is currently on an unprecedented run that even their program going back to the Danny Ford era hasn't seen.
