Cold open so so. Not the worst, not the best

Monologue not good, debate sketch best so far. The Biden plastic straw line was especially good, and Mayas impression of Harris. and Strongs cleavage was nice

What was the other sketch? The drama teacher sketch cut for time was really good. Outside of cold open, monologue, musical guest, and the pizza sketch, was a pretty solid show. Even WU was better. Guess there will be another star driven debate sketch in December....ugh

I can't think of an SNL episode hosted by a professional athlete that wasn't at least an average episode. Maybe they're not all great, but I don't remember any of them being terrible either. Watt was fine, he has enough of a sense of humor where it wasn't a bunch of forced, awkward sketches with terrible acting.

Maybe i am over compensating in response to your post, but I feel as you are defensively over compensating for JJ Watt. Just because he is an athlete doesn’t make him a nincompoop. No one suggested otherwise. I think he did rather well.

I'm probably just addressing JT3's post. Even boring ass Eli Manning did a decent job. But at the same time, maybe my sports fandom makes me like those episodes more than people who have never heard of the guest hosts.

I think it was a pretty solid episode, most of the skits were at least somewhat funny. I thought JJ was really good, especially for a non-actor. He had several skits with lots of lines, and he barely flubbed any.

I feel like this season has had more above-average episodes.
