thanks , the black wheels are new for 2020 performance model 3
I haven't seen many white/white performances out there but I think they will become more popular soon seeing as the white is now the base exterior color

White with dark wheels has always been a fav color combo of mine. I've never not owned a red car though. Would feel weird getting something else.

yeah I am going to do the standard chrome delete and tint . probably go with 35%, might look very light over the white interior. I am also contemplating a full matte ppf wrap..its the same price as a normal ppf wrap. I am undecided on that for now.

I never thought I would use the summon feature but its actually come in handy. Got home with my son from daycare and its hard to get his carseat out of the car while its parked in the garage. I can take the carseat out in the driveway and summon the car in the rest of the way while im walking inside.

here are a few pic of the interior

Speaking of the interior, these are the most comfortable car seats ive ever sat in. Also the sound system in this car is incredible. I seriously can say I have never heard any factory sound system thats anywhere close. The sub in the trunk plus 14 speakers does an amazing job, netflix is great with the immersive surround..quite an experience!

they are some molded pieces I found on ebay, seem almost identical to the ones from rpm tesla
its fake carbon fiber and it came with a gloss finish so I used satin clear coat on it to make it match the spoiler better

My wife wants to get one too. As do I. But her cell phone is dead half the time and I don’t want to deal with her having a dead car.

I like what you’ve done with the white. I was clicking around on their order page and didn’t think I’d like that. But yours looks good.

They also come with a keycard.

If she loses that all the time you could always dissolve the card and embed the RFID chip into her arm.

You can set the car to remind you to plug it in when you're at home and battery is low. And you can add the tesla app to your phone so you'll get the reminder notifications in case her phone is dead

Am I missing something, or is depreciation on Model 3s practically nil?

It looks like clean title long-range AWD Model 3s aren't listed for less than upper 40s. You can order a brand new one starting at $48,990 (I'd probably just get it in white with the ass-ugly wheels, then sell them and buy some aftermarket wheels).

Granted, I'd negotiate the seller of a used one down some, but then I'd probably also have to travel to get it and drive it home, which would mean a 1-way flight and a little bit of cost to drive it home. I don't think it would ever save enough to be worth the headache over just punching my credit card # into Tesla's website and having a brand-new one delivered to my house.

The used market is messed up because of the subsidies. The cars were much more expensive when they had a 7500 dollar federal tax rebate. Mine had the 3750 rebate.

Also, they are supply limited. There is no inventory of new cars right now and wait time is 6 weeks. The first month or two each quarter has the factory building for overseas markets.

^^ Yeah I figured those were the exact 2 issues. I assume the used market will start to work normally now that the subsidies are gone and their production is ramping up...but I don't know how long it'll take (both the market adjustment and their production actually meeting demand).

My DD has 262k miles. It might go another 100k or more without incident, but I have to consider the possibility that it could have a repair that isn't worth making at pretty much any time. The 6-week wait wouldn't be any big deal; I have other stuff to drive. Hopefully nothing unforeseen happens, and there will be normally depreciated good deals on used ones by then.

How much economy benefit do those fucking abhorrent looking covers yield?

In the winter your road trip range is roughly 150 to 200 miles of real world range when you include staying in 20-90% chargge, so you’re basically hopping from supercharger to supercharger with 20-30 minute stops every 2 to 3 hours. I drove Detroit to Chicago no problem in December, 2 stops on the way. That’s at 80mph, no aero covers, blasting the heat. I think it cost about 30 dollars round trip in supercharging, with free juice at the hotel in Chicago.

Very cool! Not too bad at all. Do you mind if I ask how much time that added to your total travel time?

finally got around to some 0-60 runs with the dragy
hard to find flat straight roads around here..got one valid run in.
SOC in the 70s..probably could get slightly quicker with 90% or more

It's a different travel rhythm. Like I'm sitting there watching YouTube on the screen while I'm charging. It's less of a hustle to get gas and get out of there, so it's hard to say how much extra time it took. 20 or 30 minutes? Sometimes it charges too fast and you're in the middle of eating inside when it's done, and somebody has to move the car to avoid idle fees.

When you're road tripping on autopilot you're not in as much of a hurry, I don't know how else to describe it. It's the same thing with charging at home vs weekly gas station runs. The mentality is different. On a 1 day roadtrip of a few hundred miles you look at it differently. If you're driving 1000 miles the additional stopping will noticeably slow you down.

I don't trust blind spot monitoring or back up cameras, let alone autopilot. That day is far away my friend.

whats there not to trust about a backup camera? its a camera..it sees whats there..

in many cars the backup camera is way better than myself using the rearview and both side mirrors..even turning my head. the model 3 has really poor rear visibility and my tacoma is also pretty shitty.

the blindspot monitoring on tesla is ultrasonic and multiple cameras. at any given point it has more looking at the blindspot than ever could
