Weird way to have to start this with the coronavirus but here we go. Hope Funderburk and Daniels come back for their 5th years and cross your fingers all our recruits make it to campus. Will Seabron be eligible?

I posted it in the other thread, but I see no legitimate reason that seniors should be allowed another year. A lotta teams had already ended their season by losing in the conference tournaments and would’ve been ineligible for post season play. And regular season was over for everybody. It sucks a lot. But doesn’t seem necessary or even fair, really. Plus it seems like a logistical nightmare. Well intentioned but probably not realistic. Spring sports is a different story though imo

If Daniels/DJ both opt to come back, we should still have a fairly solid line-up.

G: Seabron/(Hayes or Moore)
G: Beverly/Allen
G: Daniels/Hall
F: DJ/Hellems
F: Bates/Dowuona

I think Allen rotates for Seabron and Beverly and runs some point, but if Hayes or Moore show up ready to contribute I could see Allen playing mainly off-guard and giving us another legit 3pt threat.

Lose our explosive scorer in Markell, but adding in Seabron/Allen/Hall should really give us plenty of scoring options.

If Daniels and/or DJ leave, I imagine we bring in post-grad options.

Would interfere with NBA workouts and draft. Plus you’d have to worry about spring semester grades making guys ineligible which seems kinda unfair.

If you check his twitter, it says "NC State PG"....so I think he's been working out as our PG.

Instead of having a dominant PG like Markell, think you'll see more of a flow of guards that can run the point. Beverly has been filling in the last year or two some at PG, Allen has PG experience, Seabron has been working out at PG, and then you have 2 4* PGs coming in. Think our 1 and 2 is going to be even more interchangeable next year.

Need Daniels and DJ to come back next year and I think we'll still have a pretty solid team, even with the departures of Markell and CJ. Giving up experience for better 3pt shooting and more depth.

You guys know by now that not all of them will return or be on the team. AJ Taylor would guess to be gone.

Also you don't have Farrar listed, I would guess he would be more college ready than Ebenezer would. DJ comes back, I'd say redshirt one of the bigs.

^^Agreed, Farrar and one of Hayes/Moore is very likely to redshirt or play sparingly.

Think Keatts tends to go 9-deep, but could maybe see a 10-man rotation next year depending on health, any attrition, and who is ready to contribute.

I understand why everyone would want Keatts to go 10-deep, but nothing so far in Keatts tenure here makes me think he goes more than 9-deep.

We play 4 interchangeable parts in the offense, not sure it's accurate to assume he runs 10-deep barring injury or foul trouble.

Last year the 10th man (Harris) averaged almost 10 minutes a game. Same thing with his last 2 teams at UNCW. We should have the talented depth to do it next year.

yeah, this year we basically went 8 deep when we were healthy but that's because Seabron and Taylor weren't playing...and Dixon being the 9th guy who was generally healthy but just not good enough to play. so we were handcuffed in that sense this year. i think given the way he's recruited and tried to build the roster, he's definitely gonna wanna go 9-10 deep. he talked about how our lack of depth this year hurt our ability to press.

I feel like a good baseline for any recruiting class at NC State is that every freshman should be at least 3rd team All-American at the end of the year, otherwise they're terrible.

I don't think Keatts is recruiting transfers because he thinks the freshmen aren't good enough. You can't wait until you have a scholarship open up to start recruiting transfers, then you're behind the 8 ball. Especially in the case of Nolley, who has proven how good he is in the ACC. It would be irresponsible not to contact him just in case someone leaves.

If no one leaves and the entire recruiting class enrolls, we have 0 spots available.

Would mean that either Keatts is just doing his due diligence and making sure we had options in case of any late defections, or he has an idea that he is going to have to fill a missing spot. He is focused mainly on guards and wings, so is Taylor leaving? Is Hall going pro? Is Daniels going pro overseas? Is Beverly tired of hearing our fans bitch about him and transferring out?

We need some speculation here guys, haha.

Also, we have the #8 recruiting class in the country...by any team's standards outside of Duke and UK, that's a stellar recruiting class. If Hall goes pro, then obviously the class takes a huge hit in rankings.
