So why is Ball a bad pick? Is he polarizing because of his dad? Or because he took an unconventional route to the draft?

I’m not saying he won’t be a bust. He doesn’t have a jumper. But seems like he’s got a high ceiling as a PG...maybe he’ll work out, maybe he won’t. But he seemed like the obvious pick there, right?

i'm on board with Ball. maybe he'll be a bust. but the hornets have a long track record of being bad in the draft and not being able to draft a guy that you can actually build a roster around. LaMelo might actually be a guy you can build a roster around. he might be a total bust, but if he's not a bust....he's got potential star power, name recognition, he's a pass first PG that might be able to attract some scorers to come to Charlotte.

Ball and Martin brothers will play a lot this season, after we finally get rid of Batum and MKG. With Gordon Haywood adding on, there are more players on the rotation than last year, so entering the playoffs is expectable.
Miles Bridges, Rozier, Graham, PJ Washington, that’s a young and decent squad actually.

and survived a terrible shooting night from Hayward...he finished 4/16, but was 1/11 through most of the 3rd Q, i think.

lamelo was 4/5 on 3...small sample size but he's 8/15 on 3 through 4 games.

yeah, he's not shooting it well. seemed like there would be a bit of a logjam in the backcourt with him and rozier, and drafting ball, and hayward is kind of a point forward as well. and who knows what's up with monk.

they play philly again next game so hopefully they'll look better.

This team is slightly better than last yr. They are still in the post Kemba Walker era, looking for the new leaders. Seems like Haywood and Ball will rise to the challenge. Especially Ball. The whole team and even the national media give him so much hope.
