Watched it on HBO Max. I enjoyed it, I felt like, as usual, Harley was the standout. I had a hard time separating the soundtracks between this movie and Guardians.

Also love the idea of having a whole handful of these X team members that bite it at the beginning. Leaves you wondering who is going to get it.

I hope they continue making these servers.

It's a little bit of both. Flagg and Quinn and Waller are all back so it is def. in the same universe. I don't recall who all was mentioned in the last movie, but nobody seemed to make reference to anyone from the first movie.

I enjoyed it, but I want to watch again, might have had a little too much to drink the first time. One small moment that I absolutely hated though was when everyone was just asleep at their desks with the lights out in Wallers control room? I thought that was terrible, and just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Waller is a serious ass bitch, you don’t sleep on her shit.

Just watched this the other night. WAAAAAY better than the first one. Watched it on HBOmax, but wouldn't have been disappointed if I had paid to watch in a cinema.

A few thoughts though -- I know the character of Bloodsport is already in the DC universe, but he really seemed kind of shoehorned in here because Will Smith likely didn't want to revive his role as Deadshot. The character seemed exactly the same in every way, except no prior relationship with Harley. A black no-nonsense weapons expert and tactical genius who is motivated by his daughter. I did like Idris Elba better in this than Will Smith in the first one though.

Also, this suffered big time from characters forgetting their powers/abilities. Ratcatcher is by far the most powerful of the the team, but she was extremely underutilized. Calling upon what looked like tens of thousands of rats do pretty much whatever you want is EXTREMELY powerful, but she was just wasted. Why would she not have tons of rats at her disposal on the island regularly? Even with Bloodsport's phobia, they could have been following behind them by a few hundred feet so he wouldn't be disturbed. They could have taken out the entire building they were targeting without putting a single one of their own lives in danger -- just have the rats plant the explosives and get out. They could have gotten Harley out easily by just overrunning the building and killing the guards. That part when Peacemaker was chasing her/trying to kill her -- why not use her wand to summon as many rats as possible before he knocked it out of her hand? Even the fight with the giant Staryu at the end, why did she wait until it had killed/infected all those people before calling all those rats? Just lazy writing right there.

I have seen it described as a "standalone sequel." Not really a reboot since the cast has continuity and they aren't changing anything about the universe or whatever. Just that you aren't missing anything by not seeing the first one.

I think the original script was for Deadshot, but when Smith couldn't do the film they changed the character instead of recasting, leaving an opening for Smith to return.


Fun movie. I laughed a lot. Also, a John Cena Peacemaker series doesn't really move the needle for me.

I didn't know that Peacemaker was getting his own show. Seems kinda silly that of all the characters, his is the one that would get one. His character works a lot better in a group setting like this as he is good comic relief for the main story.
