I'm pretty sure we will figure it out on defense but boy we have just been welcoming opposing players into the slot and making them comfortable.

I normally believe in things like this, but Orlov being highest paid on D and used to a much bigger role might be part of the problem. I don't think he can just be on the third pair all season. idk

goalie isn't exactly the main problem. Team defense has been abysmal in all these losses. Almost all the goals in both the Edmonton game and the Tampa game are due to piss poor play in front of the goalie rather than soft goals. Opposing teams don't need 40 SOG to score when they get >10 A+++ chances. No goalie in the league is going to look good behind that. Staal and Burns both look like old slow ass hockey players. Pesce is negative on both ends of the ice. Svechnikov (yes i know he's only 9 months removed from ACL surgery) has been mostly a non-factor, which is concerning considering his cap hit. DeAngelo can't play because the rest of our team defense can't protect him and our PP is awful with Burns running it.

We're dealing with the same shit we did last year post-svech injury. Our biggest offensive weapon is MIA, only now he's playing, just not threatening to score ever. Plus this year our defense has become awful. I think a fair share of blame belongs to the coach because he needs to sit some guys/push them down the lines, but he's been reluctant. Burns/Pesce in particular. Not to mention the Staal line needs to not be starting periods constantly. If they don't win the faceoff, it's a shitshow and has led to multiple quick goals in recent games.

Goalies aren't playing great, but we didnt lose against the jets or flames because we let too many in. the biggest concern that stands out to me was how surprised the canes seemed when calgary came out in the third and put up a fight.

its an old school type of thinking, but maybe a trade of a surprising player is necessary to wake the team up. but tweaks won't matter unless we can get some consistent offense from aho svech and necas. we are playing a style of offense that looks like a fourth line killing minutes, which really looks like shit when only the fourth line is scoring.

Yeah now you can pay Amazon even more money!!! A lot of people seem to be falsely assuming this means they will get this included as part of a prime subscription. They are going to charge you $15-20 minimum a month just for this, which is already a thing you could pay for. Hopefully it will be more reliable than Bally's streaming though!
