when I was young I assumed I would likely end up having 2 kids. I ended up having 3. and now I have 2 stepkids as well. I like kids, they're fun. I want to be one when I grow up.

Our second boy used up all of our patience from 6 months to 2 years old. They both are great now but youngest is 8 now so screw starting over. I also got snipped earlier this year.

^^ Gender composition, first two are boys, and we had a boy name picked out for the 3rd, but lo and behold she was a girl.

I have 2 brothers and then a sister at the end, so the same kinda pattern weirdly enough.

^ We're super lucky that she's the easiest one, since there's a bigger gap (about 4 years) between her and her next oldest brother (I'ma blame COVID and wack work situations for that).

Stopping at 2. Oldest is 2.5 yrs. Youngest is 6 weeks. Being a new dad at 41 is sooo tiring. Or maybe I have shift work disorder. I dunno. No new newborns for me.

Always said 2 or 3. At 1 right now (almost 2 years old). Not really ready for #2 yet but I think we’ll get there soon. Theres definitely been times where I’ve thought “oh god are we really gonna put ourselves through this another time? And it won’t be easier with a toddler running around this time”. But I think we’re finding the right work/life balance to get to a place where 2 feels right.

I NEED LIKE TEN

But I need to set my life on a trajectory first so they're along for the ride and not a hindrance

I think I want my first around 24-26. 28-29 is too late. 27 is just a lame number.

I think 25 is ideal!

I will report back.

Have a 4, 2 and 9 month old. Fuck it’s hard. The olds are old enough to fuck with you and play off each other.

Yesterday they came in with my wife. Oldest had fallen and scraped his arm. Baby was screaming. While we tended to that 2 year old went and grab the forbidden sharpie and started coloring the cabinets.

Grab the forbidden isopropyl alcohol and uncolor the cabinets.

Assuming you're like 40 or so, did you have kids 'later' because it took that long to find the right woman? Or did you guys just wait a while to have kids. Although, I guess from what I see, waiting till your mid 30s or so to have kids is common nowadays (among college grad type people), so not really that crazy. De Niro had a kid at 79! lol. Although, that's probably something that goes back a few thousand years. old famous guy, king, noble, whatever, still rockin'!

Had two kids and we are completely happy with that number. Our boys are in college now but just going to community college so they still live with us. They are very helpful around the house, have part time jobs, and are saving a decent amount of money from their jobs as well as paying tuition. So a real win, win, win in my opinion.

A couple of our friends have four kids and I would be out of my goddamn mind if it was like that at our house.

I got married at thirty and wife was young. We moved far away and had grand adventures. Lots of irresponsible living not conducive to kids. Started trying 8 years in and first was on 10 year anniversary.

Pros and cons to everything including doing it earlier. Had a friend in early 20s that knocked up his girlfriend and he was free and clear at 38. Being older you have more money but are slower which compounds as the kids get older.
