Heard the Hoyas are 3-0 for the first time since 2018. Wtf is a "hoya" anyways

Thanks, bro. It feels like 1983 again. Houston is #1 in the country and State, Louisville, and Georgia are undefeated.

67th view!I thought state always starts off good when we play the crappy teams, only to get closer to .500 or less once we play better programs?

Georgetown is called the Hoyas because of the popular cheer "Hoya Saxa," a combination of Greek and Latin that translates to "what rocks!". This cheer originated in the late 1800s and was likely a reference to the stone walls on campus or the "Stonewalls" nickname of Georgetown's early sports teams. The cheer evolved into the university's athletics nickname in the 1920s.

Auburn trailing #1 Houston by 1 point with 30 seconds left.

Auburn gets three chances to win and strikes out.

Like Houston's three chances to win the NCAA Title Game so far.

BC sucks. Losses to FAU, CCSU, Davidson, Tulane. Pitt also with losses to Quinnipiac, WV, UCF. I don’t care about conference pride but it’d be cool to see the ACC basement dwellers help the conference just a little bit when it comes to NET and selection Sunday.
11/24/2025 7:22:09 AM
BC is a lost cause and Pitt has a legitimately terrible head coach.
11/24/2025 2:07:45 PM
BC is a complete drain on the conference.
11/24/2025 2:44:16 PM
Speaking of the conference taking bad losses. NC State lost today to a team that barely squeaked by Wagner. Cool!
11/24/2025 7:04:59 PM
is that white dude Kentucky's best player?

ACC RULEZ[Edited on December 3, 2025 at 12:24 AM. Reason : Is the SEC a two bid league????]

Looks like we’re heading for another season of Wake and Forbes not making the tourney.
12/3/2025 6:33:44 AM
Clemson was ahead by double digits vs byu and lost on a buzzer beater
12/10/2025 9:48:59 AM
They were ahead by 22 in the second half! And lost! Maybe they will fire Brownell and hire Wade

^^^ He's always done pretty well in conference though. With the conference not being absolute hot steaming garbage this year, I think they still have a decent shot. Last year they had a ton of quad 3/4 ACC games. This year, there should just be a handful of quad 3s.[Edited on December 10, 2025 at 2:39 PM. Reason : not enough ^]
12/10/2025 2:38:46 PM
Maybe he’s done well in conference because the conference has been shitty? Now tougher competition might sink him? I don’t know. He just seems like everybody really likes him and acts like he’s a great coach and he has very little to show for it
12/10/2025 3:30:08 PM
^ Fair, there is the potential of that. I think it leans a little more the other way though. Many of the teams he was able to beat in years past weren't lightyears outside of contention for the tourney. The conference just didn't give them enough high ranked opportunities to stand out from similar 2nd(3rd?) tier teams. Georgia for example had 16 Quad 1 opportunities vs Wake Forest's 10. Georgia went 4-12 and Wake went 2-8.He was able to put together a decent quad 1/2 win percentage but instead of the 6 extra shots at Quad 1s Georgia got, they played a bunch more Quad 3 and 4 games. If a handful more of the quad 3/4s they played had been quad 2s, and a handful of the 2s had been 1s, there is a good chance they would have made the tourney with little worry. But, all of that aside, I do agree that he seems to get hyped quite a bit without much to show for it. I guess you can argue he is doing really well if you take into account the (not great) level of talent they have been bringing in.

Most points in a game in NCAA since 2019!?!10-14 from 3... that's more than he made all of last season.

Damn, I give Steve Forbes a little love and he goes and almost gets beat by Longwood. Knocked them back like 10 spots in the NET.

Lol Baylor is adding a player who was drafted by the NBA 3 years ago and has been playing professionally in Europe since then (along wirh playing in the NBA summer league.) He's literally been traded by 3 different NBA teams! It's so funny that the NCAA just doesn't enforce their own rules anymore.
12/24/2025 4:41:16 PM
Nnaji is pretty athletic but raw. But yeah, wild how they can just do that.
12/24/2025 5:49:21 PM
Honestly we should just bring in literal NBA players. At this point the NCAA is just afraid of lawsuits so they aren't enforcing any eligibility rulesLike pay a guy who is a fringe NBA dude to play for a couple years. Probably no more expensive than what we are currently doing ]
