I haven't checked whether it had already been suggested earlier, so I'm sorry for a possible repetition. Could you guys modify a "quote" tag in the following way?

If somebody writes [ quote ]... [ /quote ], then it works the same way it is now. But if I write [ quote="MathFreak" ] ... [ /quote ] then instead of the box with "Quote:" inside, you make a box with "MathFreak said:".

That way it would be easier to track the authors of quotes. Especially when people cite another thread or a previous page or something.

I like it. Of course, the next question is what happens when the username isn't found in the users db...ie, what happens when there's a typo in the person's name?

It would be cool if there was a button under the screenname next to someone's post, like with user info and edit post that for "quote post", so that it would automatically insert the person's user name and perhaps the text of their post.
