i think it's been brought up before that people that are colorblind (not saying that bobo is) have a hard time telling the difference between the green and red. plus some of us keep our sound off too

Mine doesn't play a sound But I can see adding an asterik or something to make it easier for the color blind folks, but WE DO NOT NEED POPUPS!

unfortunately, a pop-up would be the only addable thing that could easily be noticed... sure you could put a big old picture up in the top-middle of the screen, but nobody ever looks there and eventually you'd just stop seeing it...

if youo don't want popups, then fix the sounds so they play every time and keep it the way it is...

I think it is fine the way it is. The most that I can see being done is they could change the found of inbox or put it in italics or something.

what about instead of green when you get new mail you have purple or blue instead? However I don't have trouble seeing the green anyways.

blue would be the same problem, ,some people can't see blue...

you're more likely to see green anyway, so it's the right color for the job...

make it get bigger...a big enough size change would shift the rest of the page down and people should notice that...

actually in biology we talked more about red/green colorblind. some males have a harder time telling the difference between red and green.

colorblindness has nothing to do with that statement...

you percieve Green more easily than you do any other basic color...

maybe it would help if i mentioned that all three sentences in my previous post are seperate sentences with no connections...

i don't understand...

the problem is people don't notice when they have mail. If you can't see the difference between red or green then you won't know whether you have mail just by looking at it.

there are only two reason why someone shouldn't be able to distinctly tell the difference between Red and Green... either they are Red/Green Colorblind of the item they're supposed to be looking at is too small to notice properly...

in other words... Greg's idea is the best one if you don't like popups

there should be an option to pop up a box when you have new mail. that's the way most other message boards do it. if you don't want the popup, you can turn it off.
