talked to someone over the weekend who knows ellis very well and actually talked to him at the game saturday. he's signing with the pack on signing day, no doubt. he told amato thanks but no thanks, ncsu is where his heart is.

I just read where it said Zook has sent over 95kb worth of text messages to recruits since the period started in November.

there is no limit on text messaging in the NCAA, there should be

thats a hell of a lot of text.

I'm not going to post the article on Ellis, but he had some damn good things to say about State, and there's no way in hell he's going to FSU.

Yeah, I was able to read it.

Good thing we were able to keep all the recruits we had under Amato and still able to pick up some. Signing day 14 hrs 44 mins.

he wasn't evaluated until last week. if you haven't been evaluated yet you get 1 star by default.

Didn't Kuhn mail his tape to rivals with a message that said they would reconsider his 1 star ranking if they looked at the tape?

this may or may not be the thread for this....but UNC is fucking killing it right now

they just got Dwight Jones, formerly a soft verbal, and Greg Little flip-flopped back to UNC after commiting to be a Golden Domer......if they get Marvin Austin (#1 DL/DE in the country) their class will get them all kinds of hype/press!

Rumor is that 5* Marvin Austin has faxed his LOI to UNC.....not good, not good at all

I was hoping beyond hope that the heals would have a bust in recruiting this year, or at least a class not worthy of Butchie's 2million contract, but alas, they have sold their soul to the college football devil. rumor is that a couple of the last few commits couldn't clear academics at clemson/tenn. and they subsequently signed LOI's to UNC. if they become a football power, i am fine with that, they just need to come down off the "academic superiority in athletics" stance they have tried to portray for so many years. butch is going to recruit how he wants to, and i am sure part of his deal over there is he gets to try to push some marginal kids through the system.

fact is, those bastards had 5-6 4* recruits signed with one win while buntcakes was at the helm, i knew the baby blue darkside force would only get stronger when butch rolled in......just wished it was a little more of a struggle for them....i guess i am resigned to hoping they only win 3 games next year, and a bunch of those dudes end up at hargrave/juco and the rest try to transfer!

yea unc is putting a good class together. i just dont understand why you would want to play at unc for football. they dont even care they have a team most of the time. they dont have a good track record either since mack left them.

they only don't care b/c it's bad. if butch gets them rolling they'll get rid of all of their usc/michigan/ohio state football gear and swear they've been unc football fans forever.

on a completely different note, check out the poll on espn's front page. louisiana, alabama and mississippi are all about some recruiting.

This still is not that bad of a class with a coach getting the axe...

Of course if we had fired ours earlier like UNC our recruiting would have probably been a little stronger. Things will be fine with TOB.

I've gotta ask the question and this was the best place. We all know that keeping in-state recruits is vital and maybe more so in the coming years. That's why I ask, why doesn't someone from NC State camp-out in the freaking Independence football stadium and take that talent. I would have someone at every game and most practices making an appearance. If the kid is like, "I'm still considering...", I'd just say, that's cool, good game, I'll see you next week. Seriously, a football powerhouse in our back yard and we can't get any of them. I don't want to hear it's not possible, I don't care how good we are.

Maybe a contingency of us WolfWebbers that live in Charlotte could start going to Independence football games with State gear on and notepads to pretend like we're from NC State. We'll just sit in the stands writing stuff down. A parent is bound to see it, and say to themselves "hmm...maybe we should contact State and see if they're interested in our son."

If you go to the packpride "prospects" list it still has many recruits who are showing us interest that have not signed with any team. At first I was thinking grades, but for at least one of the guys at the top grades were definately not an issue. It seems like we would really push for some of this top tier talent.

There have been two good PP articles on DT Kyle Linney. He says he plans to enroll early during the second summer session.

Spotlight: Kyle Linney, Part I
http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/634709.html

Spotlight: Kyle Linney, Part II
http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/634934.html

Photo Gallery: Kyle Linney
http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/633781.html

Quote :
"Linney indicated that he will be moving to Raleigh later this summer so he can enroll in the second summer session of classes at NC State. He visited the area frequently for games in 2006, and he is very fond of the location.

"It's really nice over there in Raleigh," he said. "Anything is better than being around here. I'll be really ready to get there when July comes around."
"

I don't really take that as a slight on Taylorsville, and more as him thinking it would be better for him if he was doing something productive during the summer, like getting a head start on his academics and used to the campus. A lot of kids don't stay as active during the summer as they should.
