Probably about 7 years ago we had a huge hail storm roll through Fairfax. It fucked up everything, cars were messed up and siding was destroyed. It looked like someone hit my car with golf balls and peoples windows shattered. Its was good stuff

1 minute long, the big lightning strike was around the 9-10 second mark.
I was out in the parking lot crouched down to make myself smaller -- metal light pole and trees behind me, cars in front of me, trying to not get hit by lightning. You'll note I quickly went to the porch after that lightning strike. That strike kinda surprised me, as evidenced by the sudden camera jitter after the thunder...
The last second or two you can start to hear the rain as the heavens open...

I would also like to point out that apparently the guy filming also did the Blair Witch Project.

I was out running in Umstead Park when all this went down. At first I was thinking it was benign because the thunder was far off. Then it got closer, and started to rain...it rained so hard that that trail became a small creek and the water was about 4" deep. There was only one really close lightning strike, though.

Overall: Awesome experience, would do again. A++++++++
