Got a 360 for Xmas and now I am in search of Rock Band. It seems that supplies are in shortage as I expected and the people on Craigslist are selling it for $200+. Are there any tracker sites like they have for the Wii?

I'm tempted to get the PS2 version, but the inability to get the new song packs really would suck...

on the other hand i'll be damned if i shell out the $$$ for a 360 or PS3 for just one game

I would totally buy this if I saw my group of buddies more than once a month

not worth the money for only 5-6 hours of actual group multiplayer per month

So in an amazing stroke of luck, I was able to just pick one up on my lunch break. I had been calling around everywhere here in Huntsville to no avail. I went over to the mall during my lunch break to return something at Gamestop and even as I was waiting in line, some kid asked the clerk if they knew when they were getting some 360 versions of Rock Band in. The clerk pretty much laughed in his face. So I got back to my car and as I was pulling out of the parking lot, "In Bloom" by Nirvana came on the radio. I thought "Hmmmm this must be a sign" cause the only time I played Rock Band was the demo at Best Buy and "In Bloom" was the only song I played. So I decided to go across the street to Circuit City/Best Buy against my best judgment since major retailers are the first to go out of stock but hey, lucky me, there were two on the shelf at Circuit City. Now I'm debating as to whether or not I should leave work early to go home and play

the new drum pedal arrived yesterday, and the yellow drum head is flaking out now so i guess i'll be sending that back too.

this is stupid. i mean, i'm glad they're replacing this stuff for free, but jeebus did they not test this shit before they packaged it up?

now instead of wondering how hard the next song will be, i wonder what will break next and if i can make it through the rest of this song.

i still <3 rock band though

A few questions for you Rock Band veterans:

1) Can I do hammer ons and pull offs when playing guitar or bass? I didn't notice any notes having the white outline or anything similar like on Guitar Hero.

2) It seems that when playing guitar, my star power activates as soon as I get it. Is the stratocaster controller just a lot more sensitive or is it fubared?

3) Can I play Guitar Hero with the stratocaster controller (360 version)?

You can do hammer ons and offs but this is one of my mine problems with rock band. The notes lines are slightly shorter and just not as noticeable as on GH.

One more question:

The thinner fret buttons at the base of the neck... the ones that don't need to be strummed. Do those only work during the ending freeform rockout part on some songs or can they be used for solos too?

You can use them anytime during the song. They aren't "don't need to be strummed" buttons. They can be used at any time.

i can play drums on hard on most songs now, but i always have so much trouble with the last note of the "solos." i feel like i have pretty good sense of rhythm/time, but i usually end up missing that green note more times than not.

^^^
You can use those buttons without strumming during the solos within the songs as well.

I played this game for the first time last night. Fucking awesome!

I was a rockstar at vocals and bass, but sucked at drums. Oh, and my buddies wouldn't let me play lead guitar

Can't wait to play it again soon

my strum bar is pretty much useless now. only upstrokes work, and you have to strum hard

fuck that. 3 days of playing, and it's dead.

for the kick pedal, I came up with my own repair after a crack started showing late last night

you need about $20 and some electrical tape and a bit of nig in your system

head down to a autozone, pep boys, or other such auto supply shop

buy a set of those cheese dick "racing" pedals (foot print style preferred but not available where I went)

take the gas pedal one and just tape that sucker on the kick pedal as shown here

it's solid as a rock and has held up to some massive beatings [no homo] today

I had the same exact thing just happen to me. I was sensative to this from hearing about it so i played very carefully and light. Doesnt matter - the down strum is completely hosed. fuck you EA.

send it back for a replacement. The new one I got was better. I am going to wait another 2-3 weeks and send the guitar back again and probably a few more times till they get it right.

My strum bar seems to work fine (or at least I think it does) but does anyone else have problems that the guitar seems to randomly "drop" notes or not hit notes that you know you did hit?

Also, where do I got to unlock "Enter Sandman" and "Don't Fear the Reaper" on quickplay? "Don't Fear the Reaper" is available on microphone quickly but for some reason it isn't on drums and guitar....

This is indeed the first symptom. Then longer drop outs, then crap. Their hardware is awful...and you can clearly tell that EA/MTV games are noobs at it.

^ i had the same thing with the mic, you just need to turn on a regular controller to have it connect. they really should put that in the instructions somewhere

Yeah had a nice session yesterday for a few hours and then I noticed my guitar was starting to do weird things. Which basically was all the "early symptoms" of a broken guitar, *sigh*. I ended up just playing everything on the up-stroke and that isn't going to cut it.

i think it's about time for me to sign up for drum pad replacement. you have to pound the absolute shit out of the yellow one to get it to register. we haven't been overly rough (or rough at all, really) on the equipment. i really wonder about the people who got this for their kids, or people who have it and let children play it for an extended period. if it can't stand up to me and my bf, then it definitely won't hold up to children.

If anyone is looking to get an extra guitar controller (A 360 Guitar Hero one - Explorer, not Fender that comes with Rock Band), Best Buy online is having a pretty good deal where you can get one for $50 with free shipping, which is at least $10 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen.

I hate it when they're covers instead of the real songs. Just bugs me when you're paying that much for' em.

But I still might get LimeLight.
