It was Mayo last July who decided this team needed to practice instead of doing seven on seven and individual drills. It was Mayo who organized full scale eleven on eleven practices in a scripted workout. And win or lose it was Mayo, who was always standing in front of the media talking about the win or the loss. He led by example. He led by his play and his commitment to working on and off the field. In his career at Tennessee, Mayo had one off the field incident in a case that Mayo calls mistaken identity. That incident nearly three years ago still bothered Mayo heading into his final season and it provided him with plenty of motivation. "That whole thing humbled me to the point where I don't go to as many places like that, and I don't drink alcohol," Mayo said back in July. "Even though it didn't play a factor in the fight or anything, that's just not me. I don't want to put myself in any situation where I have a lot riding on the line and have it taken away over something silly. "That's not the kind of attention I want to draw to this university. The attention I want to draw to this university has to do with winning games and winning championships." With his degree in hand meeting his mother's demands, Mayo spent the last few months traveling the country stepping out of his comfort zone selling himself. As a result, Mayo is Tennessee's first top ten pick since John Henderson in 2002, and he is heading to a franchise that has been all about winning championships the last few years, which fits Mayo well. "I feel like I bring a winning nature," Mayo said Saturday. "The Patriots already have a winning nature. I feel like I bring a work ethic. They already have that as well. You can't really bring too much to a team that only lost one game in a season. I'm just excited to be in the position that I am and to be able to learn from some of the greats in the game." And knowing Mayo, those greats will probably learn a few things from 'the rookie'."

^they've been all over Sportscenter and just about any show on ESPN for the past 4 days. All i know is he gave the Chiefs the best grade of the draft and its followed by the redskins and cowboys. After that, i haven't a clue

The guy who kept making plays in the Friday afternoon practice was linebacker LeRue Rumph out of North Carolina State. One play he burst through the blocking and made a touch tackle in the backfield. The next segment, he was dropping into coverage and making an interception.
Rumph was not drafted last weekend, after playing in 44 games for the Wolfpack. He got on the Chiefs radar screen because he played at Clearwater Central Catholic High School with Marcus Edwards, the team’s pro personnel assistant and son of the head coach.
“He got himself on film,” Edwards said after the workout. “He made some plays. Now, he has to do it again.
